  5. I tried explaining this to a guy who is a networking consultant. He said he would be going with cable when he moved. I asked him what his contract said about data limits. He said the sales person told him it was unlimited. I again asked what the contract was. He insisted it was irrelevant. So he got cut of after a few days and had to take an account that was more with what he needed and now pays 4 times as to what I pay.
This so he can download a movie faster than I can. I still can download faster than I can watch DHe has all the bandwith and what get I in return?
No data limit. 30M up and 70M down speed (he has 250M up and down I think). No port blocking instead of a;; closed below 1024.
I am also with a much smaller company, so the support is better as they need to fight for each customer. With him he gets to an outsourced callcenter if he calls.

And all this because he thinks that bandwith is important. I know I would not hire him as a network consultant, but companies do and he makes a great living of it.

It would have given them an even better life experience than what they already had. Now one of them was not allowed to have wine with their food or where restricted to close restaurants that they could walk to.

Plenty of those, but in the end it was just one. Walking 500 meters became a very difficult thing to do. As they lived in Spain, eating out for lunch few times per week is not that uncommon. Beats making your own food. And it being Northern Spain, after that lunch (at 15:00 or so) no dinner was needed.

  9. That piece of paper only has value if it is enforces. It will only be enforced if there is punishment for those who break those laws. That ca only happen with accountability.
No accountability? Then it might as well not exist.

If you live in a house that says "No cookies before dinner." and you eat cookies and mom only says that you should not do that, then I will keep eating cookies.
Just saying that you will take away my allowance and then get it from dad means there is no accountability.

So you can call it whatever. You can point to the bible or the three laws of robotics or any thing written. If it is not enforced, it is basically fiction.

As long as I can provide power to the phone, they work and I am still not able to play snakes very well. I can still use the phones to call and send and receive SMS.

The fact that people think it is normal that old hardware runs slower for some reason as if there is some mechanical deteriation, like with a car engine where you will lose some power over time, is an issue of and by itself.

And if you only talk about durable, those 50EUR phones are more durable than any thing that is cheaper, even if they are not a Nokia.

Addiction is a different thing. People are warned about the issues with cigarettes and other addictive things are either regulated, age restricted or both or forbidden.

When it comes to addiction, I could see that there are several things that could be done.
    1) Age restriction
    2) Warnings
    3) Combination of both.

The question obviously is if it is indeed addictive or not. The next thing is if you treat addiction as an illness or not. In the US the answert is no for many things. "Just stop it" seems to be the general idea on treatment.
