  1. You've already missed the first MMOFPS. on MMOG Subscription Analysis Provides New Insights · · Score: 1

RPGs arent necessarily my bag in the first place. However, I'll pay to play the first MMOFPS. Or a MMOGTA, massively multiplayer online grand theft auto! Get to work, Rockstar.

I'll assume you never heard of (The now defunct) 10Six. It was an MMO FPS with RTS aspects. Your only opponents were players, and their automated turrets/vehicles. An amazing amount of fun, hosted through the even more defunct Heat.net.

Also, PlanetSide is pretty much a MMOFPS. Likewise with WWIIO. I can't claim to make a solid recomendation on either, but I'm sure someone could.

Worst case means taking some of you with us.

We need to put an end to this bullshit now and be forever thankful that this is all the damage that was done. Invading a country the size of Texas and killing several thousand innocent civilians is insignificant in the grand scheme of possible human atrocities. If you think that too much is at stake in this election, wait until the next one. What makes you think that either party is going to back down ? It's not in their best interests to do so.

I certainly wouldn't consider this post as flamebait. Nor would I claim it as informative. Hell, I don't even agree with it all that much. But it qualifies as 'interesting', IMO. Not in the 'Let's raise his Karma' interesting, like it's generally used. But rather that he had a different outlook on things, and provided enough support to get a discussion going.

God forbid us Slashdotters see a different view of things every once in a while. There's absolutely no reason that disagreement with a post should result in it getting modded as flamebait or trolling.

This is as much the gamers' fault as anyone elses...I was drooling at early 3D accellerated games like the rest of us.

It should be noted that this emphasis on visuals also detracts from our review process. Half a rewview is now basically just screenshots. It gives takes the critical thought out of a rewview, since the graphics can be measured pretty objectively. (And quickly)
