And I'm not here for the free ride. The free part just makes the decision to switch easier.
There are quite a few large open source games. Ever played Bzflag? God that game is addictive. There is also Nexuiz which I hear is pretty good. Then you get the small really really fun games like Frozen Bubble.
You cant understand it because you've never seen it being used. Its a bloody fantastic feature.
I can update half the programs on my computer and I can chat on MSN, surf the web and even play games while its occuring.
The only catch is that if you update something critical like Xorg then you cant start new applications once its updated because the new library cant talk to the old X server currently running. Using already open apps is fine though.
Its like replacing explorer.exe with a new version while the old version is still running. It means that updates are far less disruptive and when you want the new version then you just restart the updated apps.
Amazing how folks' minds go to Paris. I would argue her thinking is not restricted at all. This does not translate into "intelligent". Well when you talk about restricted thinking you actually imply that some thinking occurs.
The oddities are there to maintain backwards compatibility.
I've never had a script break with version jumps (including 4 to 5) because I write good proper code. Some older crap wont work on PHP 5 but why would you want to run crap?
Mono/C# are semi-compiled whilst PHP isnt (without a accelerator).
If you tried using Mono/C# in a real world situation you'd find that it would be horrible because it would run as a CGI. The initialization for it would kill the server.
I notice that none of the tests were remotely related to a web page as well. How the hell is Mandelbrot relevant?
5 years ago there wasnt a big demand for Linux gaming.
Linux has gone a long way since then.
Your average user is now getting interested and is downloading isos.
And we have very good (binary only) graphics support.
We just need the games now.
Pull your head out of your ass please.
I do my fair share of gaming under Linux.

I agree with you but I wouldnt mind the ability to use my data/programs easily from wherever I am.
IMAP does the job well for email.
Its odd. There are lots of people who say that about WD but I've never had a problem.
My computer has a 120gig WD drive which has been going for years and my 6 month old server has 4 of the drives.
Never had a problem.
IMHO the man existed but the Bible is rather exaggerated.
He would have been just your ordinary religious fanatic.
Plus when Microsoft starts saying it, you know to run away in the opposite direction.
Actually they will talk fine as long as they were both opened at the same time (either both before or both after the upgrade).
Its usually not a hassle either to restart the updated apps.

So Paris Hilton is a very poor example.
I'm in Australia buddy.
It's called a law for a reason.
You say the drinking at 21 law is stupid, I say the DMCA is stupid.
Still have to obey both.
Thats what a IR Blaster is for.
Yeah it (usually) works fine. Far faster than mysqldump.
I'd always use mysqldump for smaller datasets though.

Hahahaha. Thanks man you just made my day.
Actually I was given the name by some friends who werent too happy that I had just owned them.
That was years ago.
I've done it recently to a database which was around the 60gig mark with 2 million tables.
Worked beautifully going from 4.1 to 5.0.
Different arch's too. Intel 32bit to AMD64. I wouldnt do the reverse though.
The more they push, the harder we push back.
That summarizes it pretty well too.
They pushed very hard with the thousands of DCMA take downs and we pushed back, taking out a popular site in the process.
So we can analyze the source code and figure out how to change our marks. :D
Or just make GPSes far more common and the problem is solved too.
(e.g. I'd like one but they are too pricey)
What do you mean by 'supported'?
It wont work or you wont get support if you bork your system doing it?
Heck you can make a bash script output your website for you. Or even QBASIC.
Windows is still being sold isnt it?

The fact you posted that on msdn.com AND things like that arent common at all on Mac OS means your just trolling.
Also keep in mind that if Windows had the same symptoms then the box would just get a reinstall.
