You'll find that it will only stop programs from being executed the usual way (e.g. Run, Explorer, Shortcuts, etc...). There are other ways to execute a program.
If my security policy disables the ability for the user to execute anything but the trusted apps I have on their machines
Yeah my old school tried that one. So goddamn easy to bypass. Took us a week or two to find half a dozen ways to get around it. The admins eventually gave up.
But keep in mind that these people are virtually ALL running Windows and they just clicked a ad which promised to install malware on their computers. They arent the brightest cookies in the jar.
IMHO its better choosing one specific format rather than every man and his dog having a 'open' document format and noone being able to open anyone else's documents.
than raising the dead, resurrecting themselves three days after a brutal execution and ascending to the heavens? Mind telling me who these people are? I love that one. His body disappears (e.g. stolen or deliberately moved) and they say he resurrected.
Considering I've never ever installed a program from a cd under Linux dont you think autoplay would be useless? :P
I think package management is far superior to cds. For one you cant lose your package management and spend half a day looking for it.
Nothing stopping you from using NAT, Mr. Paranoid.
Heck if you wanted to you could use NAT and change ips in your block once a hour if you wanted to.
Thats increased anonymity.
Dude mod_security *is* a joke. Its a band aid solution.
What would do if a security flaw was found in your blog?
a) Update to the latest version.
b) Make a mod_security rule to block it.
If you choose a) then mod_security is redundant.
If you choose b) then your a idiot.
Its better. You'll be giving money to us (Australia) rather than the middle east. :)
I think they mentioned that the LifeDrive would be compatible with it. Not the TX though.
Doesnt matter too much. Bluetooth support in Linux now works and wifi will come soon.
Homebrew ports rock.:)
Thats ironic because there will be lots of spare copper wire lying around from the old powerlines. ;)
What the hell are you on? GP is completely correct and your just ranting.
There probably should be a 'Get OpenOffice' campaign just like the 'Get Firefox' campaign when Firefox 1.0 was released.
The thing is that the gallium isnt used in the process. Its comes out as a by-product which can be recycled.
Oh the common interface is there. Its just that people (like you) dont know about it.

Heh. I still play it without the user created stuff.
:D
The gameplay is second to none.
Plus with a Dual Core processor we can finally hit the 5,000 unit mark and just swarm our enemies with Peewees.
Hey what about a flight sim in pre-2001 New York with realistic collisions and explosions.
;)
Or is that taking it too far?

Your giving examples of Windows security but they mean nothing in the real world.
Read only flash disks? Meh. A virus can still jump across and screw up the entire network.
Completely useless 'security'.
Usually I would agree with you.
But keep in mind that these people are virtually ALL running Windows and they just clicked a ad which promised to install malware on their computers.
They arent the brightest cookies in the jar.
I agree with you. I've never played it and I've only seen it once and it was a real meh game.
The rocket scientists dont look after the blueprints. The janitors do.

Try using ODF. You might like it.
I thought Chinese was the most common language not English. :P
He doesnt work for Microsoft by any chance does he?
Dude they've already lost the asian market. ~250 copies sold in china. Jeez.
Maybe they should have used the card to power their servers?
Usually yeah its pretty light but I do occasionally thrash them badly. Mucking around with 200gig databases is one example. :)
