Adobe releases a new major version (x.0) of the Flash Player every 18 months, and that cycle is getting shorter with each version. They release minor versions almost weekly. But don't let the facts get in the way of your hatred. That's twice now.
- for consumers who will eventually have to pay ~30% more
Only if the content provider decides to charge two different tiers based on where the subscription originated.
Except that one of Apple's terms is that you CAN'T charge a lower price in your own store than what you charge in Apple's store. You're not allowed to undercut Apple.
Legend Entertainment also made several graphical text adventures in similar style to Magnetic Scrolls, and went on to make graphical adventure games. They did a great interpretation of Frederik Pohl's Gateway (along with a sequel) and the Spellcasting x0x series, which was a bit like Leisure Suit Harry Potter.
Because if we believed in something that appeared ludicrous to you, you would be equally smug. Such as, oh.. that life on earth would be better withouth religion perhaps? Or did you want something less concrete and more airy-fairy?
No it wasn't. Parent was correct. I downloaded and played Narbacular Drop before it became Portal. It had nothing to do with Valve, Source Engine or Half-Life before the team was hired by Valve.
In one of the Ultima games, you required the Bell, the Book, and the Candle, to get into the final dungeon. I'm sure that can't be coincidence. Which came first, nethack or that ultima?
Big Ultima fan. Just did some googling. Ultima 4 and Nethack were both released in 1985. However, the same three items are also found in Zork (1980).
Ultima also had an amulet naturally, (amulet of Lord British?) but I think that you obtained from LB's lockbox. Not a terribly useful item.
British's amulet was a key item in Ultima 5 - it was needed to pass through the darkness surrounding the entrance to Dungeon Doom, and thus complete the game. Also appears in Ultima 6 in LB's inventory, but is a useless item.
Though it is pretty awful in this day and age, almost 30 years after the C64...
You do know that the C64 has been 100% emulated in Flash don't you? Let me know when HTML5 can do that and I'll consider switching over from my "inferior" platform.
Sorry - for that usage, it's "cue". As in one person signalling or cueing to another person to play the sound. Not as in putting the sound effect in a queue to be played next.
Mod parent up. The so called "democracies" of the UK, US and Australia, which in reality are merely democratic republics, could learn a lot from Switzerland. The only country on the planet that truly represents a democracy of the people.
Your ignorance of the Swiss political system is evident. Parties have very little impact on these issues. Do some research before making completely unfounded responses.
The ban on minarets was based on a vote of the public on that specific issue. The Swiss people decided on this issue. You may not agree with the result, but at least the Swiss have the ability to vote on specific issues, as opposed to most other so called "democracies", where the only control the individual has is on electing a representative. In other words, your "democracy" is really just a democratic republic.
Free speech has nothing to do with it. The ban on minarets was a majority vote. You may agree or disagree with it, but the people voted. Switzerland still remains the most democratic country on the planet. The "democratic republic" of the US, UK and Australia doesn't even come close to the pure democracy that Switzerland strives for.
There's being honest, and then there's hobbling about all day complaining about shitty things and sometimes even compounding them, without doing anything at all to improve the situation. I think "cynical" is an apt label for that, among others.
The original Star Wars arcade cabinet was a highlight of my childhood, and the X-Wing and TIE Fighter games highlights of my teens. And they were all better than that N64 podracing game.
That's certainly not a monopoly in the legal sense, but it is in the practical sense.
No it isn't. A monopoly in the practical sense would mean that people have no choice but Apple. In reality, they have plenty of choices. Your point is merely that people aren't aware of the alternatives, but that doesn't make it a monopoly in a legal, or practical sense.

Flash can't handle scroll wheels yet. how long do you think it will take them to get touch screen support?

Simon the Sorcerer and its sequel are also available for iPhone.

Insightful? Utter bullshit. No way are incandescents superior to CFLs.
How you've managed to consider CFLs an inferior technology given the above is beyond me.
If you can't get locally made CFLs, that is not a problem with the technology, it's a problem with your location.

It looks like all three were pre-dated by something much older.

We don't need no copyright education.
Yes you do, you just used a double negative.
Congratulations on your 'spotting the reference' fail.

An IT Crowd reference too. Hang your head.

...exclusively same-sex sexual interaction is simply a genetic deficiency doomed to reproductive failure...
In times of overpopulation, I'd hardly call that a deficiency.
Hasn't it become so easy these days to lump God in with Santa Claus...
You're right. They shouldn't be lumped together. After all, there's actual proof that Santa Claus existed.
Instead they get shat upon by corporations who buy power from politicians. Yeah, that's much better.
Wow. Are you from the US?

Politics of Switzerland

So is jellyfish. Shown here with duck's webbing (equally delicious).

Develop an alternative - easy.
Making it a standard when a standard already exists that is supported in thousands of devices and established infrastructure - hard.
Particularly if "IBM, Apple, Intel, everybody" all come out with different alternatives. Won't happen.
