  1. Re:Mark Hamill on Lucas to Make Sequels to Star Wars After All? · · Score: 1

Try watching Cartoon Network one of these days. You'll find some people seem to be in EVERY show in some way shape or form on that network. Mark Hammil is one of them (He even appeared as a CG character in an episode of Johnny Bravo because, as a director said, "kids love those computer effects these days."). Another is something like Phil Lammar or something like that, who plays Samurai Jack, Hermes of Futurama, and about 9 billion other roles.

Good ol' Mark doesn't exactly need work. He's set for a good long time.

  2. Re:Bad luke - Bad! on Lucas to Make Sequels to Star Wars After All? · · Score: 3, Interesting

Actually, I've read a comic of Star Wars that shows a few things:

    1. The Emperor is not dead. He can come back after death by entering a new host body (He admits it's painful and unleasant, but such is the cost of supposed "immortality."
    2. Luke DOES fall to the Dark Side, but it is quite brief and is pulled back by his JEDI sister. (Yes, Leia becomes a Jedi... as do her kids, I believe)

  3. The Aftermath on Lucas to Make Sequels to Star Wars After All? · · Score: 2, Interesting

Well, just because the Empire fell doesn't mean things were all happy and cheery in the New Republic. The Empire fell, true, but it was not out. The Remnant Forces (as they came to be known) became quite prevalent and the Sith did begin to return, as did the Jedi. Thus, I see a sequel as a likely possibility.

However, on the other hand, I don't see Lucas directing as the best of ideas. I WOULd like to see Lucas make the OUTLINE for the series. I'd like to see him shape the overall plot. But for the tiny details, for the dialogue, and for other such things... I'd much see... well, a lot of other people doing that.

And may the Force be with us. Please.

Why? Because what movie did I watch last night, the first time I've ever heard of Transparent alumminum? Star Trek IV. Coincidence or conspiracy?

Coincidence. But a hell of one.

  5. Re:Absolutely correct; however... on Star Wars on DVD · · Score: 1

Exactly my point. Anakin may have become a Sith when he became Darth Vader, but at the end of the trilogy, he is a Jedi once more. He IS pure then. Thus, it's not surprising that the wounds he received as a Sith would not show. Once Anakin fell in the volcano, essentially, he is a Sith, so of course they won't show up on him. (Similar to how he has his right hand at the end of the trilogy, despite the fact that Luke cut it off in their final battle)

Similarly, I'd like to note, even if Vader died a Sith, it wouldn't be too late for him. It is possible to be redeemed even after death. For this, I cite the game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. On a Sith Homeworld, you can meet the spirit of a Sith Lord who died 2,000 years prior to the game (making it 4,000 years prior to Episode 1). He regrets turning on his Jedi Masters and, with some persuasion, you can make him believe that it is indeed always possible to return to the Light Side and that if you show repentence. Thus, you save his soul. In this case, though, His purest form would have to revert to when he was a young Jedi. But Anakin became a Jedi once more BEFORE he died. Hence... Return of THE Jedi.

  6. Re:Not enough! on CAN-SPAM Is A Bust · · Score: 1

Maybe we all should get a massive thank-you letter for SPAM since they HAVE been so kind as to not sue everyone who's ever used the Internet. Maybe such a thing could encourage other companies to not be so sue-happy. Unlikely, but...

Seriously, though, has anyone ever truly met someone who's bought something from spam? I'd think the human race would be smart enough to realize that spam is full of frauds and that pop up spam contests won't ACTUALLY give you that free boat/Disney vacation/$100/sex toy. Then I found my mother on her computer saying, "dear, I clicked on this window that said I was the one millionth customer and that they wanted to send me a camera, but how do I get it?"

Here's a coincidence for you: As I was typing this anti-spam post, spam popped up as an IM and tried to get me to remortgage my house (despite my not owning one since I'm only 17.)

Okay, I did not really mean "very fast" (chalk it up to low blood sugar if you must). Try more like "adequate." Really, though, my speed doesn't usually matter to me because it usually takes me longer to figure out what I want to say and how I want to wor it than it does to type it.

Maybe I'll try that Selectric someday, though.

  8. In general, yes, formally, no on Is Typing a Necessary Skill? · · Score: 2, Insightful

I type pretty damn fast, I'd say. I haven't had it checked in a good, long time, but I'd say 50-60 wpm sounds about right. However, I haven't actually ever taken a complete touch typing class. In fact, I use the so called "hunt and hit" method. Well, I should say, that's how I STARTED typing. However, I know where all the keys are by now. I don't have to even think about it. I use two fingers to type but there is very little time between any key stroke, and the only thing that is slowing me down is my thinking speed.

Thus, while I don't type the "normal" way, I'd say I type almost as good as most typists, anyway. So, while I do believe it helps to know how to type in some way, shape, or form, I don't think it has to be with the standard model. Whatever way works for you.

Also, just because I type this way doesn't mean that I use poor grammar on IMs, despite the stereotype. I'm a grammar nazi at times and my whole body cringes anytime I hear "words" like "lol" "ic" or "omfgrolflmao!!!!11111111"
