    What we do not realize, is he was doing this on purpose to get everyone to download the video, with a hidden payload in its meta tag. Then when the time comes, the exploit will run, and he will have the worlds biggest botnet because everyone thought he was that funny to watch....joke is on all of us programmers, not him.

    Did they use an external firm, to do this? If so, how come someone knew that at that time they were changing systems, and would know that the change was one of the OS, unless it came from the inside, I would look at who had access to that info, and then maybe go from there...
    If someone leaked from the inside, then there would be a trace, usually...as this costs many millions of dollars.

    All in an effort to void warranties, this is made to allow them to know if someone dropped it in water, but i thought that apple extended the warranty to include dropping in water, no? I thought that was the appeal of the iphone 4, it was water resistant...I guess i am wrong, can someone site reference?

    Most app companies do build on old code, EXCEPT AV companies, because not only do they need to change their signatures all the time, but also because viruses and malware mutate all the time their attack vectors, so the AV companies follow suit, changing the path where you will install, the registry keys, the names of files and folders....the list goes on, all to avoid detection by the malware people, and the malware people do the same with their apps, creating dynamic dlls, changing the code constantly to avoid signature detection, even splitting dlls into chunks and adding them to ends of other files, or hidden inside header data to then be reused to create the compiled code...all in an effort to be creative in evading detection.

    Ironically enough, both sides use the same tactics to circumvent the other...sort of like cpt. kirk using cloaking technology against the klingons...priceless...

    Come on, did anyone else but your programmers write the code for your site?
    If someone saw a bug and then sent it to you...then guess what it is up to you to patch it right away, if 1 week later this bug is deployed in the wild...then sorry, but you had your chance...that is why you make the millions, and others don't, else we all would have our very own dating websites....you need good coders, and just anyone to do your code for you.

    It is up to management not to be stupid, everything can be done in pairs, so why not pair up admins too....have 2 people have the same knowledge of what is needed to keep the system going, so that if 1 is let go, you have another until you find a replacement. Also, if 2 heads are better then one, 2 can bring better ideas to the table, as long as they understand they are not in competition, but working together.

    I have to say, for the first time, I am impressed with the french, extending their services to allow egyptians to use the internet even if their own government does not want them to. I would want to know why a government would completely block the internet off from people, what is the reasoning, but I guess when you see something that just ain't right, it is nice to see another country doing what they can to help out.

    Imagine that, the very reason why we invented eBooks, to save paper, is actually working, and coming true, we are now selling more ebooks online then paper books, soon we will have no more need for book stores or libraries, because in 20 years, we will have digitized everything, and will have no need to waste our precious resources creating stuff that can be put on computers....wow, imagine that.

    I agree, these amounts are meant more for deterrents for future cases then reality today. In actual fact, the dude is going to declare bankruptcy and have a clean slate.

    They stopped their helpful trade in program where the dealers had to buy back your old car, and now on top of that the money for going green with your car is drying up....what sort of incentive are they giving, none, so how about you just accept that people will change when they are good and ready ( or can afford it)

    Seriously, for someone who looks so much the other way when it comes to corporate taxation, and fines for pollution, you should know that if we all went green and drove the best cars possible for no pollution, it would equal to about 2 days worth of the pollution we would save if we stopped all the refineries from spewing out the garbage they spew out...so really the volume of cars damaging the environment is nothing compared to what could be done with stricter laws against pollution for the big cos.

    Or...you can make it obligatory to have some science (enough to understand what evolution is, and explain it to students)
    background for teachers who want to teach. Just because you teach does not mean you stop learning, IT and many other careers are study intensive as the field changes every 6 months, so what's wrong with getting all teachers up to speed with science, once they have they do not need more upgrades afterwards...unlike IT, which is a constant battle.
