everybody is an artist inside, we can all think up wonderful things, its the process of getting it from your head to the paper that makes you the artist
what scares me as an artist is that rapidly an era is approaching where to be an artist, you no longer need to master a stylus... when everybody becomes an artist and simply thinks about something to make it, how will this effect the world? stuff like this scares the hell out of me.
i think location based encryption IS the way to go becaue its essentially getting to the very root of the problem, that is, access of encrypted information outside of the company. while something such as gps is maybe not as hack proof as it could be, why not just bombard the structure with signal that the pc could read and realize its in the building. copper mesh coat the walls and there you have it. the signal could be anythign from radio to wifi, mix it up, have it synced with the laptop and alway changing.
as a user of a 12x12 tablet, i can tell you that its much much easier to do rough stuff with a pencil. this goes for technical art mainly, but simply the ability to turn the paper and get better angles at stuff is the main advantage (to me) over using just the graphic tablet.
what are the chances that apple will ever utilize this in any way? im going into 3d animation and modeling and this could help me immensely. ill be getting my college computer (a top of the line g5) in a half a year, and knowing that something like this was assured would cause me to wait for it. couldn't you do this using pci express? and will apple abandon pci x? i don't want to have people flaming me or whatever, i love apple, and my college has macs at 80%, there also giving me maya to do homework on, so just building my own pc is out of the question.
the funny thing is that all web browsers are basically the same! by our firefox in both the mac and pc labs are all running default. the stupid thing, is that on our mac lab's dock they have camino, firefox, mozilla, safari and up until recently, IE...
why is it that the people teach are more often than not the ones who need to be taught?
my school just finally took ie off of all of our computers, both mac and pc. im wondering if this will make a difference, as most people used it just because thats what they were familiar with. i don't see any reason to even touch that app.
im reading allot of people saying things such as "first person shooters should never be on consoles" and are just generally griping about the controllers etc. on the other hand i also read lots of forum posts where console gamers are wanting pc controls on their consoles.
here are my thoughts on the matter. i have had long winded conversations along the lines of mac vs pc so i get allot of sides to it.
basically when it comes down to it, i love the console experience. its like using a mac... it may not necessarily be the best at everything, but it does have very good moments. do i mind playing with outdated graphics on a joypad? no, i play because i want to sit on my couch and play a game. theres just something different about it. i even dislike putting a kb on my lap to talk in lobbies, for me its just the headset and joysticks.
when i started off on my first real console fps (timesplitters) i was a drunken monkey using both sticks to control movement and aiming, but after what has it been...? 2 years+ its just another seamless interface
im not bashing anybody i just feel that if time is spent with a console control people wouldn't hate it nearly as much. its the difference between using a graphic tablet stylus and a mouse for digital painting. you just gotta get used to it.
in our CI class, our entire grade took a online test where you would fill out what you had priority wise and what candidate agreed with you the most. i am not joking when i say that the vast majority of the class, regardless of if they said they were D or R had at least a 80% agreement rate with cobb and the green party. im not saying that the green party is the only way to go, to be honest i never really looked into them, but if our governemt is bipartisan , lots of people will always be pissed. the fact that there not even given the chance to be in a debate is simply wrong. they shouldn't need a certain percent of the vote, simply being in 3rd place should get them in. there is no reason at all that we should continue ruining our nation by chosing from 2, when a group that comprimises would be more liked by the masses. some people here are saying that bush is basically in because of his religious stances etc and there right. for many INCLUDING myself, bush's morals (in regards to religion) are what i vote for, but in all of the other aspects, he is a monkey. we shouldn't have to be forced into picking 2 opposites.
