Honestly.... how goddamn hard is this concept to wrap around your head? ESRB Rating : M for mature. This game contains: http://www.rockstargames.com/sanandreas/image/M.gi f Thats the ESRB rating right from the box... Where on there does it say the game is SAFE for kids to play? It's not meant for children. It even says there's strong sexual content. That would mean the "hot coffee" mod doesn't raise the bar any higher then it's already been set for!

I got an old painted over Pole Position Cabinet for free from someone about 30 minutes from me who was going to get rid of it. I got the cabinet, finished painting it, cleaned it out, and then went on with my plan.

I rigged up a full PC with Mame, and pretty much every game known to man. I'd reccomend getting a decent graphics card and lots of ram if you want to play some of the newer stuff.

The controls are all done though an X-arcade (be sure to get the usb adapter) and it has s-video out, running to my 23" tv inside the cabinet.

Ideally, I'll be getting a 23" LCD to hook up to it, and Ill be making a switch, so i can jump from pc to xbox to ps2, instead of manually switching the cables for my xarcade.

The fact they have the adapters for the xarcade makes my life much easier.

Perhaps because there's something to still do once you get to the highest level, other then just roll a new character and be amazed at how cool you can make your super hero be?

The content alone makes WoW the clear choice. Add the music, the sound, the immersion, the events (xmas in your favorite city?), and the amount of people to play with, and yea, its clear why WoW won.

They have a 4mil current debt.. not 68M like stated by others. The 68 is how much they are going to need to keep afloat for another 2 years.

If they are only 4M in debt right now..IMHO I'd say it's pretty clear they're going to be eating a lot of money on their console (much like all of the other console makers do) and are praying that their subscription services make them their money. How do they intend to make 35M in 1 Year in subscription services and Pay per play alone? Has ANY company managed to make that much money? Didn't Sega try this whole thing with the sega tv? Guess history is doomed to repeat itself once again.

Wow, ok that was a better way to say it, without sounding like the other two have.

I guess I came off like that because of my bitterness of being disappointed by so many promising titles. It's so easy to feed into the hype of the "next big thing", to hope so much that it would be even remotely as good as it sounds on paper, and then to just see the project canned or the game rushed.

I totally have to agree with you on this..

I've been bitching about the lack of effort in the game market for quite some time.

    [IMHO]
There aren't many game companies left that actually put in all the marbles into their games... those that do (Blizzard, ID, And some others) are still the strong contenders in the market.

The main problem is the sheer number of games that are coming out.. and their lousy execution. I blame the game companies that license their engines to pretty much any1 with the money. Thats why when u go to a Best Buy or frys.. you see rows of games that are 20$ or less, mainly due to the fact no one ever bought them.

Here's my idea of what needs to happen:
-Companies need to stop making crappy FPS's and Crappy RTS's.
-They need to focus on gameplay instead of graphics
-Start including good music, and something we rarely see: Story!!!

Im not against game engine licensing.. but perhaps companies should be a little stricter as to who their sell the use to.. it's what caused the flood into this market.
    [IMHO /]
