So i guess everyone else who purchased an intel processor is reliable for damages as well?!?! Since no one checked to see if what they bought was infringing on any patents.
The only help i can give yea is to visit gfdl.gov and see if they are hiring. One of the requirements they ask is for at least a PHd. If your still a student, they may have interns available.
I currently work for NOAA at a facility called GFDL. We house some of the super computers here. I currently operate and control the computers and its deffinitly a treat to be able to work with these fast machines. We have some of the worlds fastest computers here and they compete very well with the earth simulator. We also have some of the top hurricane guys working for us as well. It is good to see that the techonology that we use is getting publicity. It will inform everyone how things are done and where they get the information from.
Is this componentized packages similar to apples approach to installing application on there os? i.e all the components for the application to work in Mac OS x is all contained in a folder like executable? Is my understanding correct?

We are on the verge of getting some new silos in that will contain the new 500gig tapes. Right now our current setup has about 4-5 petabytes worth of storage for just tapes Thats Each storagetek silo holding about 7000 tapes. And lets just say the silos never have a break.

You can also save some money and get a Storagetek silo that can hold over 7000 tapes and have around 7 petabytes of tape storage at your finger tips like my work has:)
Yea i would aggreee that those extra cpus arnt getting any acction. Shame my works 3232 cpus cant show off its potential with the kind of testing they have up. We need for better tests!!
I am also surprised not to see my work on the list. But i was told for a few reasons why we are not on there. We didnt get all of our machines in on time for us to post and didnt want to make our larger facility look bad. Also i see the results only include just one machine and not the total computing power of all the machines as one cluster. I can tell you for a fact in the last top500 results we were in the 300 area but only tested just one of our nodes (SGI Origin 3000 512 cpus) and not the cluster. Its a shame you cant see what the power of some of theses clusters have. We have 2 SGI Origin 3000 512 cpu machines, 5 SGI Origin 3000 256 cpu machines, 2 SGI Origin 3000 96 cpu machines, 1 SGI Origin 3000 128 cpu machine, 2 SGI Altix 256 cpu machines, and 1 SGI Altix 96 cpu machine. Add that all together and you have a lot of power. Sorry if i seemed to be bragging, but it would be good to have better tests to show what some places really have more power over others.

How is HP reliable for the caching in the intel processors? Shouldnt that be an issue with Intel and not a company that builds computers?
