On a local news (KNBC (L.A.) if I remember correctly), there was a story about how this guy found a way to minimize tornados. I think he had these white powder stuff that you drop onto a tornado. Supposedly, he was going to test his theory later on with a plane.
Did anyone hear about that? I wonder if it would work.:)
I read this article today and thought it was interesting: here. I am one of those who can't get high-speed connections and get crappy speed analog modem speed (26400-28800 on a 56K).:(
I cannot get any ADSL, SDSL, and cable modem services. DSL is too far from a C.O. (I am on a hill). Adelphia does not service cable modem in my area. I can get IDSL, but I don't have 109.95+ U.S. dollars to pay per month for a year contract and 144kb/sec max (it is too slow for me).
Worse is with analog modems, I can only get 26400 to 28800 connections. Once in a while, I can get 31200 but my 56K modems (all types) detect major errors at this speed. 28800 is stable.
Would this V.92 help me at all or will I still be in the same situation? I look forward to receiving replies soon.:)
Is this the same cordless mouse? If so, then how the heck are you supposed to play games that require mouse buttons? I can't picture myself using one in Quake 3 Arena game:).
Anyone how often will EB stores restock D2 orders? I was unable to get it from three local EB stores.:( Does Best Buys and CompUSA (too expensive) have them yet?
On http://my.weather.com/fcgi-bin/custHome.pl (if you have customized your Weather page), I get:

I was in a server room with loud computer fans. Geez, I can't imagine being in there for a long period of time. My ears started to rang like heck after 30 minutes! I wonder how many server operators actually go deaf? I can picture them wearing those headsets you see at the airports:).
I asked a friend about this and he said, "no, but the answer is yes, there are other ways....use other OCR engines, like Omnipage Pro or TextBridge Pro. Adobe Capture 3.0 is really really really nice, but is expensive. The searchability factor is the only reason OCRing is needed in most instances."
I just hope MS doesn't tamper with one of my favorite soda drinks! Sooner or later, we'll start seeing Windows logos on Coca Cola cans. :(
Maybe Linux should do Pepsi. Or Dew [grin].
Garth (Dark Horizons Web site) has his review. He gave it a score: 9 / 10, Very Minor Spoilers. :)
More information right here: here.
:(.
Now, if I could just get game ROMs for the emulators
The big booms frighten me :). My subwoofer was going nuts!

I downloaded the MP3s since I am on a 26400 modem connection :). Damn, my Klipsch Promedia speakers were overworked [grin].
Sheesh, too much bass :). Although the music wasn't interesting or a keeper for me.

This one kick @ss and is hilarious if you are a fan of both shows.
I didn't like Computer Boy either. The only part that made me laughed was the silly music during the chase.

I just found out EB stores will restock at around noon. I hope so! Must get!
Is FTC going to get angry over this too? I know there's a catch for Free DSL. :)

Sheesh, what a loud thing! In fact, I used it during my whole four years in college (1994-1998). My roommates and neighbors could hear it! Haha!
Wow, so the fans were that bad! Did they use sign languages to communicate (besides typing) in the server room(s)?

Yep, I think the single player only installation is smaller.
I am hoping to play it over my long weekend (Independence day weekend with a vacation day [grin]).
Ah okay. I just hope they're not short ones like in Command & Conquer games :). I can't wait!
