Fascinating cities, but I dearly hope they figure out how to combat the pollution soon. They'd be so much more enjoyable if one could just breathe. It's tragic presently.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mumbai
The appellation Mumbai is an eponym, etymologically derived from Mumba -- the name of the local Hindu goddess Mumbadevi, and Aai -- meaning mother in Marathi. In the 16th century, the Portuguese named the area Bom Bahia which means Good Bay. This was later corrupted to Bomaím or Bombaim, by which name it's still known in Portuguese, and after the British gained possession, it was anglicised to Bombay. The name was officially changed from Bombay to Mumbai in 1995, but the former name is still popularly used in the West and by many of the city's inhabitants and famous institutions.

I had a few problems when it came to an iPod order and a Powerbook repair. In both cases once I sent a formal written letter I got what I wanted. In both cases I had been flat-out turned down previously for what I thought was a reasonable solution.

In summary, I think that the first-line support is generally not so good at Apple. Getting beyond them, service gets much better.

I've yet to experience "NO gaps" with a CD player randomly selecting songs on a disc... The seek just isn't that fast. Especially when selecting across multiple discs!
Aside from that, I catch the intention of your point. No technology is perfect, obviously, and I don't think that was what I was claiming. The merits of the iPod and similar technology are obvious... Just try and carry your 20yr old CD player and collection of CDs with you in your pocket.
Must be so easy (and fun?) to make abusive comments to people when hiding behind AC, isn't it!?

Using iTunes one indeed can rip the CD without the breaks between tracks.
If you use the iTunes Join Tracks feature, the program melds two or more songs into one, continuous gap-free track. So now you can enjoy listening to classical music, concept rock albums and extended dance mixes without the silent treatment.

Go back to sleep in that aforementioned hole that you yourself obviously live in! Ignorance is bliss, ain't it!? Or in terms that I'm sure even you can understand... No brain, no pain! Splendid!

glrotate, you're obviously concluding that all of India is like the big city in India which you visited. I've made many visits to India and your summary matches my impressions of Kolkata for the most part.
Thankfully most of India is still rural and NOT like you describe. Every time I arrive in India I make sure to get the heck out of the city as quickly as possible due to primarily the horrible pollution. The smaller towns, villages and cities can be delightful compared with the city life.
I'd hate for anyone too conclude that all of the USA is like Manhatten or LA.
Also, there is no religious ground for the animals walking the streets. It's simply a different philosophy.

Typically I wouldn't reply, but your .sig was inviting to me as a former exchange student in Germany.

    Polite response:
Nicht schlecht, aber English and German schreibt man gross. Proper names and languages are capitalized in English. There was a change in German recently to stop capitalization of nouns right?

Remember also that in English there's "too" (as in late) and "to".
Seems in German there's only zu. Whether "zu spaet", or "zur Post"

Wouldn't have guessed that English is not your native tongue. I'd agree your English is better than my German.

How about software which helps identify duplicate songs (same name, different format)? Ran into this when restoring from backups. Older rips vs. new rips. Restoring from iPod also has complicated my collection. So far it seems I'll have to write a script of my own, but somebody has probably already done this.
