Won't it be destroyed by things like the tanning process? I mean, It's not like we yank the skin off a cow and slap it on our backs, the leather is cured/tanned to make it more durable and useful as a material for making a jacket. It's an interesting idea but it is more of a animal rights statement than a realistic way to replace using animal hides for clothing IMHO.
Phone sex operator?!? That can't be number 1, It's gotta be #2 after Telephone Tech support Operator.
Oh wait! What about that hampster running that kids Hampster powered night light... Now that job has gotta suck.
We used to have a saying about IBM. It went something like this....
IBM - Great service! (And yer gonna need it)
I guess I expect everything I use to fail at some point, what matters to me is how fast and how well the company responds to fixing it.
Just my 2 cents worth.
I think I know the story you are talking about but it was not an automation problem. There was a fuel leak in one of the engines which was causing a much higher fuel usage rate than normal. The pilot did not believe what the computer was telling him with regards to fuel levels until the engines quit. He then proceeded to set a new record for the longest glide flight of a wide body jet. Made it to the runway too.. just barely. There was use of the fuel balancing system too, but again, it was the pilot doubting what the computer was telling him that was the real cause of the problem.
I'm not sure I understand what is so great about this. I can already get movies on demand instantly with my current digital cable subscription. I can call up recent episodes of my favorite shows, pick movies to watch and all delivered instantly.. well, ok.. it takes 15 seconds or so to start, but I don't have a tivo, don't need a tivo. And except for new releases I don't have to pay any extra to do this. So where is the advantage of downloading it to a Tivo?

>Closing your eyes doesn't really make the >monsters go away either. Are you sure about this? It's always worked for the government.
