Actually, I kinda like Mac's eject thing. Much like Linux's $ mount and $ umount commands. It makes sure that the computer knows that the device is no longer there. Windows, on the other hand, can hang up when you just yank out the media. It can be quite annoying to accidentally remove media from a laptop.
Spain, right?
There is a difference. The fact is that you can choose which corperate puppets you put in Parliment and whatever other governmetal offices. This logically leads to the fact that companies will choose different people to espouse their views in government. If you get enough of an even split, similar to what is present in America, you can render the government totally unable to interfere in anybody's life by passing cumbersome legislation. But sadly, this takes centuries to develop properly.
What would this technology be used for in the short-term, though? It seems to me that without an immediate way to utilize this solar sail, there cannot be a profitable business application. It belongs more in the realm of the government at this time, as the government doesn't need to turn a profit.
Um...the full 7-disc version of Debian (Sarge) should be plenty. Configuration, from what I understand, isn't that bad, and you'd be hard pressed to find something that isn't in that package somewhere.
Mod parent down for bringing up bad memories of the time my dad rented that on DVD and we watched it. I mean, I have nightmares about paying full price to see that movie in the theaters now.
Well, when I tried updating the last time, I had a major system failure that corrupted everything. It was a massive disaster. I should say that I do patch every now and then, but updating to 2.6 is totally out of the question.
Since I'm running the 2.4 kernel without any problems, and I have had massive issues previously with a kernel update. As it is, I know I'm using a really old version of the 2.4 kernel, but I can't justify the risk in updating. I don't want to have to reformat my Linux system again.

I want to purchase all electromagnetic frequencies between 380 nm and 780 nm. Therefore, everything that people could see would belong to me. Or does somebody else already own that part already?
They are not recomminding that people use Windows, but suggesting that you should spend more time trying to pwn Windows systems. It was a MS-bashing piece.
However, seeing it in.swx and.pdf makes us realize that he's talking about the total cost of overrunning a system, not the total cost of maintaining a system. It makes us Slashdotters actually RTFA. And if you haven't, you definitely should. It's hillarious. Though, I would have called it the Total Cost of Pwnzrship myself.
My, how humor is lost on some people.

You mean you haven't seen the television ads for male enhancement and paycheck advance services? There's obviously enough of a market for them to have the money to advertise on TV (and I heard an Enzyte ad on the radio the other day, too). These things just aren't for spam anymore. I've advocated this before. In print, even.
Unfortunately, nobody takes the idea of capital punishment for spammers seriously. But given this information, it should be possible to track these guys down and execute them like the scum they are.
Nothing would have made Bakshi's Lord of the Rings any easier to sit through. Not even Homestar Runner-like flash animation and scripting. Okay, perhaps if Homestar was cast as Denthor and Strong Bad was Frodo.
Though I would like to see what this software could do in a H*R kind of situation.
I wish I could get Playboy without the softcore porn. This would be one of those times. They occasionally have good political and social commentary in their publication.
Many thanks for the information. As I said before, this is a realm of IT that I don't know much about, due to my preference to keep everything legal. Of course, that preference led me to the wonderful world of F/OSS, where I don't necessarily have to pay to be legal.

Waterworld? Pfft! I'm thinking Titanic here! $300 million and the movie was still three hours of bad acting.

I'll wait for 2.4.27 to hit yum. Easier that way. I've got the latest patches available through yum loaded anyway.
Actually, C was the case. I have no clue what happened.

Of course, I'll licence them under the GNU's GPL.

I want Mac OS's interface on Linux! I've done what I consider to be as good of a job as I can, but it's not the best knock-off in the world.
