It's only a matter of days before a hack will surface on how to bypass any anti-recording-flag. The underground TiVo community is huge and need not worry die hard TiVo fans. Will it prevent casual TV recording? Maybe. Will it hurt the TiVo company? Probably. Can we still record what ever we want? Sure!

I don't keep anything that I don't read. If I happen to come accross a piece of spam and I'm dumb enough to open it, it gets kept. Granted this happens once or twice a week it's not so bad. If I don't read it, it gets deleted--Who's to say I ever got it? Email isn't a reliable communication source. Enough said.
Yes, it is very useful. Say you're adding a new hard drive and you've got a hot date this evening...you can check your hair in your power supply, get spiffed up and ready to go w/o that trip to bathroom mirror;)
