These guys at http://obscuradigital.com/ have been doing this for quite a while now.

The guys at obscura digital deserve credit for doing this first!

Alternative energy - when someone comes up with something REALLY inventive I'll be glad to see some Gov't funding, but right now there are no new solutions and frankly no demand.

This is what really upsets me about republicans. If it isn't economic, it doesnt exist. But even saying there is no demand for alternative fuels is a lie. If you want proof, go to a gas station.
Anyway, if you don't think there is no kind of demand for alternative fuels, fine, Bush gets elected, in twenty years when our environment is totally fscked I will say YOU deserve this. But I dont.

The point is there are still other issues than Iraq. This election is too important to show your dissent. Trust me, Im as disgusted with the system as you are. But this is reality and you are either going to get a complete retard in the white house again or your going to get someone else ANYONE else.
Im not voting for Kerry because I like Kerry. Im voitng for kerry because I hate bush more than I love Nader.

  8. Stability this time? on Longhorn's Windows Graphics Foundation Examined · · Score: 1
    FTA:
Longhorn's Avalon technology will rely heavily upon 3D graphics, not only in terms of performance, but also in terms of stability. Where 3D was once primarily the domain of gamers, game developers, and workstation gurus, 3D graphics is now the lynch pin to Longhorn's success. To that end, Microsoft is investing considerable development resources into ensuring that crashes will be very rare, and that when they do occur (and they will), the graphics subsystem can do a snap-reset so that the user will hopefully not be aware that the subsystem even had a problem.
That sounds nice, but that one part stating crashes will happen is still unsettling. It's one thing to make a system that restarts instantly, another thing to make a system stable.
And if it does restart instantly (which I'm skeptical of) I hope I'm notified.

Because lawyers and senators use precedent to pass new laws. They use stepping stones to further their goal. Is that really a chance we want to take? The line needs to be drawn somewhere. Saving lives is not about what that chip does, it's about automating the fine process and putting more money into pockets of corporations. Its about money.

Grievous offences? Like what, smoking reefer? Talking on the cell phone? Operating an unlicensed ham radio? Talking to yourself? Picking your nose? Of all things Ive read in the article, this is the most disturbing. Not just because it presumes guilt before innocence, but also because the sole purpose of it is to generate revenue. They really don't give a fsck about whether you're driving fast and safe or slow and dangerous... it's all about pumping money from your pocket into their hands. What really makes me sick is it's not about safety at all, its all about the green.
  12. Re:A rant about FPS when shooting on Microsoft Longhorn To Support HD DVD Format · · Score: 1

Completely correct. 24fps is an advantage. It's not like in video games where smoother is better. HD is the future and WILL be filmed more and more in 60. Native digital 1920x1080 cameras shoot in 60 and do look better than film telecined into HD. Im suprised actually how many uninformed posts here are getting modded up as insightful when they are only partially correct.
