    Every Springer Spaniel my family has raised has been damn sharp. They will only run if they are excited by something, or if they are chasing something. Otherwise, they walk. Granted, they walk fast - but it's not a gait change.

    Well, here's why it works: They put a topical anesthetic down to stop the needle from hurting. When the Novocain is injected in, if done slowly, the "numb" front will exceed the tissue separation. Meaning you no longer feel the tissue being damaged by the injection.

    If you rush, it rips the tissues before the local nerves serving it are numbed.

    Small gauge needle, topical anesthetic if desired, and good technique.

    6 different serums that are required to carry the various vaccines.

    You can't just mix them up in a slurry, because not everyone can (or wants) to get them all.

    For example, I cannot take the MMR vaccine. (lucky for you all, I'm a carrier)

    Well, this is true - but they need to recognize you as a hostile. This is not so easy if you are in a dense area. It's one thing to be the only heat signature in the area, but it's another to be firing from a populated office building.

    I would bet a lot of the population wouldn't care to get involved, yes. However, I'm sure there's a decent proportion who would jump on the bandwagon. They just don't want to -start- it themselves.

    The thought of high-speed traders working through a web browser amuses me.

    If they are so time sensitive that mere seconds of delay could through them off, they should not be using a consumer-level OS and browser, but something a bit more realtime.
