    You can use its firewall, ipfw(8), to do QoS packet shaping (which is essentially what you're asking for). Some details are available on the MacShadows KB.

    I think the point of the script is for personal use. With it, you can browse the web and generally use your computer while also serving sshd, httpd, and bittorrent with minimal slowdown.

    Googlebot doesn't use the same IP address all the time (several servers running Googlebot I'd imagine), so filtering based on IP addresses would be infeasible (at least according to Google).

    If Microsoft used and followed current and open standards (e.g. POSIX, OpenGL) rather than making up their own proprietary, secret standard for everything (e.g. SMB, Active Directory, ActiveX, DirectX, Windows' COM), developers might have been able to port their software easily and efficiently to many operating systems. However, this was and is not the case, so therefore we have a problem.

    Well, the ringtones from Cingular are MP3 files. Specifics: 22.05 kHz, 2-channel, 48 kb/s.

    Yes, they're not even DRM'd! You can't transfer bought stuff using the phone, but if you transfer files from/to your phone via your computer, you're able to get the files.

    Well, I think it's reasonable to think that you should be able to trust your pastor et al. when it comes to the Bible and the teachings of Jesus considering that's their life, but when people blindly follow without questioning, you get pastors who abuse that trust.
