If you disregard all the constant patches being sent, it is a soap opera on LKML. If you've ever read the fun arguments Hans Reiser had with the kernel folks over getting Reiser4 in to the kernel, you'd know what I mean.
MPlayer hasn't released 1.0 yet. In fact, their latest release snapshot was 1.0rc1 (the 'pre' in 1.0pre8 for example means "pre-release" or "preview").
The only illegality in question for the WMV3 decoder is patent infringement, but it's not like Microsoft makes any effort to posting the relative patents needed to license WMV3/VC-1 like MPEG does for its standards.
Are you basing your price range on phones you can get from your provider's store, or phones you can get at full price? Full price phones tend to be at least $200 (unless you get a cheap one of course). For example, the Motorola ROKR E2 (badass multimedia Linux-based phone) costs about $250. If your provider sold these phones, it'd probably be something like $100 or less because they're going to make back that money via your contract.
Oh yeah: the iPhone would probably fall under the price range of an iPod (which coincidentally is the same as the mobile phone range for the most part), so you can't get saved there! Although, that would be awesome to see the iPhone anytime soon with GSM support (Cingular uses GSM by the way) at least.
You're not supposed to put a notebook on your lap. "Laptop" is an incorrect term because it leads to sterility and other unwanted heat dissipating in your groinal areal.
Since iTunes 7 doesn't follow the rest of the Tiger application themes, this might have something to do with that theme. Maybe they're going to make all the apps consistent regardless of use? Or maybe they're going to introduce even more categories to use when designing the UI for your app so that you Windows themers can't copy the OS X theme?:P
But he's criticising Windows Vista, not Windows 2000. Have you seen Vista's shutdown menu? Have you read the article on Slashdot about how much time and effort went into making it?
I feel your pain; this is fucking ridiculous. Scalpers are almost as bad (if not worse) when it comes to the Wii compared to the PS3. I am not going to wait several hours in subzero weather outside a Target/Best Buy/Walmart/non-gaming store (wtf is up with the low supplies given to the stores that actually specialise in games?) just to get one.

At least people don't write emails like they do novels; that sort of writing would obviously be spam in most circumstances.
That's free of charge (i.e. gratis), not just "free". The word free by itself in this context makes no sense and leaves plenty of ambiguities.
Let the free market sort that out. If the producers deserve to get paid, they will get paid.
Sorry, but spamassassin has marked your post as spam.
That seriously reads like the spam that's been getting past Gmail's filters in the past couple months.
Google can see your comments on article.pl, so that's what matters.
Good catch. I'm neither a network admin nor a network engineer (more in to computer science and general "* Admin" stuff).
That's because network admins are to Cisco as Mac fanboys are to Macs.
ISPs could always implement a blacklist instead that blocks old versions of Windows...
Since your parents obviously aren't network admins, they wouldn't be qualified to do that on Windows either. Your point?

But people buy one desktop and several games.

You could also use a trash of some sort: Use
Maybe prisons shouldn't be using Windows? ;p
So fucking true. Sad thing is, on digg, this post would be moderated to -100 or something.
Porn District? We'd lose a large level of detail since that'd take up a majority of the poster. ;p
What happened to Sun releasing Java under the GPL? I'm still getting a click-wrap license agreement here...

KDE's kwin does, but it's somewhat of a hack (in my experience/opinion) if it was supposed to be like Mac OS X's application bar.
