You've tried to distill the love out of marriage, but you're doing it wrong. A domestic partnership is something different, which is actually a problem and not one caused by the people who are being forbidden rights. Marriage is a contract, which shouldn't be restricted by irrelevant data such as gender. You've hit on a lot of good points but you looked at the people fighting to fix it (gay marriage rights) and demonized them because you think the rights should be MORE universal.
The only difference between what you say and reality, is that in reality the gay agenda is the only thing that will keep us from burning in hell. The media frenzy conveniently ignores that Brendan Eich's name is on the foundations of the modern web. If we were to demonize this man's contributions to the world as we know it today the way that they've demonized him as the CEO, say goodbye to the technology that makes it possible to spread the word in the way that they have.
They absolutely were professionals. These were professional programmers and content creators who work out in the real world where they've tried very hard to cut out the overbearing boss who doesn't know how to do his job. Why didn't they just get actors for their GAME JAM if they wanted to shoot a commercial? This wasn't a commercial, this wasn't an advertisement reel, this was an event that Pepsi made a deal to sponsor. Then Pepsi's guy decided it was his commercial, and made it so the professional content creators who were there for a game jam were treated as if they were actors in a Pepsi commercial. No, the marketing droids did not do their jobs.
Again, you're not doing your job if you don't treat your workers with respect. No shit if you bring in people who aren't actors for a gig they have specialized skills for and then expect them to put on a marketer's act, who didn't do their job?
Let me put it this way: There is absolutely no surprise that there is a significant failure rate if you try to treat the workers like that. That's why people in the real world are laughing at the people who believe this shit and thusly drive that failure rate sky high.
It also goes in the reverse, as well. You can't pull something like that and honestly expect professionals to just take it. Pepsi blew this one, big time.
Ultimately undesirable, perhaps, but I get the impression it's more that economists don't understand some basic laws of reality given how hard they want to push a particular economic model which clearly isn't all they make it out to be.
While it is possible to trim XP down and squeeze it into 512MB, my own experience tells me that it's foolish to consider it to run well in 512MB. The very idea throws me back to a slightly earlier time, upgrading a Windows 2000 machine from 64MB to 128MB of RAM. Coincidentally, if you've trimmed XP down to fit into the low memory environment, you've basically got Windows 2000...
