No, that's encryption. Encryption is Alice sending a message to Bob while preventing Eve from seeing it.
DRM is Alice sending a message to Bob while preventing Bob from seeing it.
DRM is a (moronic) form of encryption, not the other way around.
Do you even know what avant-garde means? And are you trying to say that Mac users are insufferable asshats? In that case, I'll leave decent OSes to me, and leave the crap known as Macintrash to you.
So, yeah... anyone who doesn't give a shit, doesn't vote, but they sure can BITCH! Just remember... if you don't go and press a button/pull a lever/sign your name -> YOU CAN'T BITCH!!!!!!!!
I'm sixteen and can't legally vote. Do I have to stop bitching because the law says I can't vote?
Add to the mix electronic ballets which have been shown to be easily hacked with absolutely no voter verifiable paper trail, and your vote means nothing anymore. Vote for who you want, because we've already decided how we're going to count "your vote", regardless of your wishes.
Electronic ballots are like a fly compared to the elephant of the Electoral College that makes sure that people who don't live in one of a few "swing" states are pretty much guaranteed that their vote has no effect.
The Bush tax cut is really like taking out a loan. Which means that taxes will be paid in the future. By whom? Those of us who are young right now. Remember, when you support a tax cut, you support taxing our future.
Even without Diebold, my vote doesn't count because I don't live in a swing state. The Electoral College is a much more devious subversion of democracy than the Diebold corporation.
I assume that you liked the Star Wars prequels just as much as the originals?
(of course, this is coming from a person who liked the sequels to the Matrix--I'm just showing an example that will convince the majority of/.ers that past performance != present performance. Oh, and Han never really shot first even when he shot first. Mal Reynolds really shot first.)
I haven't seen that. The media might report things that way but media reporters are rarely scientists. The actual scientists at NASA and such look for water as a path to life because it's the most likely place for life to emerge(all life we know of has its origins in some aquatic species) and not because it would automatically lead to life.
Israel has many of its terrorism problems because of how strongly we support it.
As for military spending, we spend more on the military than all of the next 11 nations down the line combined. We don't need that much power.
A minority of applications are actually CPU-bound. Most applications are I/O-bound and can't be optimized. Most "general purpose" applications won't benefit from being written in C.

Because science adheres to the method of changing when new evidence comes out. This is not an attribute of religion. The end of the Christian Bible pretty much goes like this: "Anybody who changes this will not be going to Heaven."

Don't you know that Timecube says -1 * -1 = +1 is evil!

You won't because iTunes is the easiest to break. You just have to burn it onto a CD.

Only if by "no one cares" you mean their latest album made it up to #1(Yes, I know this isn't a metric of quality, it's a metric of people caring)
B..b..but Clinton!

Not worst president ever (I think Warren Harding might be that one) but worst president in recent times.
Projection? Isn't that what the Cylons do?
What if, say, you need your phone for your job? I'd suspect that to be true for a large number of people.
I wish you could say the same to people who only have to spend at most a hundred dollars for new tires.
Even without Diebold, my vote doesn't count because I don't live in a swing state. The Electoral College is a much more devious subversion of democracy than the Diebold corporation.
True, but the discussion was on whether or not American lives were lost to terrorism and whether America is safer.
Half-Life? Seemed to me that Half-Life(and its sequel but that came after the original Halo) has more substance than Halo.

Sounds like the entirety of the Halo series to me. Not that interesting. I'd rather go for something with some substance, like Half-Life 2.
He is right. You don't usually see US Federal Judges doing ballet...
