My favorite thing, to open a few people's eyes anyway, is to simply replace the interconnects from their CD player to their Preamp or Amp inputs with braided Kimber Cable, an amazingly cheap interconnect, and ask em' if it makes a difference. It almost always does noticably improve the sound.

I guess I have to pull out my c**k here to prevent bandwith abuse.

M-Audio 24/96 Audiophile (the weakest link, the record player just destroys any digital effort BTW)
Sonic Frontiers SFL1 Signature with gold pin Mullard (factory modded)

Take two hard rubber balls, a bit bigger than fist sized is nice. 3/4" nylon rope about 4' long. Drill holes in the balls for the rope and knot it both sides of the balls to make a "bolo" 'bout 3' long.

Broken hockey stick handels 'bout 3' - 4', tape the ends eh', and a football field is all you need for "Bolo Ball".

No rules except to score you gotta wrap the bolo round some part of the opposing team's goal.

We played full contact tackle, rugby with sticks, and the whole school would come out and watch. It was mayhem with fairly serious injuries in every game. Damn it was fun.

To watch a $30,000 Sharp Aqueos go all shuddery when in full movement, like a sandstorm covering the whole display, is pretty sad.

I have a Sony 34XS955 on order from NY, they are disapearing fast. A flat screen CRT with the Super Fine Tube that does 1400 lines. That's instead of the 1080 max HD does. Possibly the best TV ever made, well that would be the XBR960 but this is almost as fine, no firewire out.
