Every machine I have owned has taken an overclock and run like a rock, You have to spend some time testing and adjusting bios settings but I have yet to fail to get some more from what I bought.
This box is a dual 550 P3, supposed to be 500 MHz. It is the least overclockable CPU I've ever had. Nice though, even today.

I've always found basic to be an impediment to clear thinking. I don't know 'bout you but I'd rather spend a few minutes thinking and write 15 lines than just dive in and write 115 lines like most basic educated guys seem to do.

Nikon is used by maybe 80% of pro photographers with Cannon at about 15%. There is a reason for this. Brutaly strong pro level cameras 'that just work';) and the best and most affordable lens system there is.

If Tridgell was under an agreement not to sniff the network this might have some validity. He says he was party to no agreements about Bitkeeper.
Anyone can look at packets on the network, it's common ground. Samba was developed precisely this way and if that's all he did with the Bitkeeper packages there is no violation of any damn thing.

I've been root for 12 years, on my box who really cares, it's more convenient and I can easily su to anyone with no questions asked. I've screwed up badly once, a long time ago. Keep a CD mounted, it makes rm -f / fail;), if you mount it at/cdrom.
When I appear on a networked machine it's to do work and I gotta be root. I don't hang about there so why do I need to be a user... ever.

Network traffic is network traffic. Once it's in the network it's on common ground. Any traffic can be examined and thought about without violating anyone's rights.

Any serious network attack involves a chain of ownwed boxes to attack from. The best response is to take those owned boxes from them.
After determining the source of the attack alert the people who have been owned and help em' get their box back, teach em' a little hardening too;). It's not that hard to take network machines but it does hurt to have em' taken back.
