total bs. if I start my laptop and my neighbor doesn't happen to have security on and my computer automatically connect through their wireless network what difference does it make? I don't even check what I'm going through but I have noticed that sometimes my mac does seem to prefer my neighbor's "linksys" wireless. It happens all the time. I guess I'm a thief?

but how? I've owned many gadgets including ipods, pre-ipod mp3s, pdas, etc....for my money the ipod is clearly the least hassle to use with the best quality, even if you don't buy iTunes. Ok maybe you disagree and you maybe right. It could be that I've been seduced into the Apple podset! But. Just like Picasso once said, "I don't borrow ideas, I steal them,(make them my own)". This is exactly what Apple does better than anyone, every day, all day long. They take an invention and turn it into another APPLE billboard. That's an Apple. Apple. Apple. Apple.
well if apple does that and I can't port OSX to a tough book...apple better get into the sub notebook catagory fast...because 12 inch iBooks and G4s don't cut it the way Panasonics Tough book do. That sucker is 2.2 lbs!

OK...sure sure, freedom, yeah I like that too. but. My wife has one of these tiny 2.2lb.4 inch thick Panasonic Tough Books. Best screen ever. It's the one that use to be only had in Japan..nice shinny very VERY small and beautiful. Great solid computer. In fact it's the best notebook out there for so many reasons. If I could run OSX on that baby, life would be so much easier on the road, AND I would probably sell my PBG4, as nice as it is. Apple may make good harware, but there are way better hardware options out there in the notebook catagory. Just a fact. I just hate windows and love OSX. I've got no time to f*#@K with open source OSs. I'm sure Apple's aware of how good that Tough Book is, because they couldn't touch it's size. That's why they switched to Intel.
Buying that upgrade instead of a full x86 machine means I'm still sticked to the PPC world.
I don't think those upgrades would sell a lot.

I'm using one of these on a desktop model of the same year and despite the slower bus speed it's a totally great upgrade and it's very fast. Nothing you can'T run perfectly. This is so fundemental to MAcs, 5 year old computers work great. (wonder if upgraded processor will work under Intel??) THat is a tremendous selling point of Apple...not that they support upgrades but they have always worked beautifully since the G3 whatever desktop or Powerbook. Unfortunitely it looks like the G4 Powerbooks mayNOT bve upgradable...we'll see?
Your point about iTunes neglects to mention the fact that Apple with iTunes has such a huge hold over the sonsumer because iTunes DOES NOT work with other MP3 players.
Not true. iTunes worked with a number of Mp3 players in the beginning, and actually still does with Creatives' Nomad, etc. No you can't play anything bought off iTune's immediately, without two steps to convert it, but you certainly can use it to load Mp3s. OK, I know, I know.
just look for used on Amazon. Never more than $7 and often alot less. I just purchased one HOT cd for 3.99!
And the riaa loves to see those legit cds up for resale.
