I think this is a bad way of thinking about terrorism. We had thousands die on 9/11 from only a few people. Technology has given a few people the ability to kill a massive amount of people. It only takes one person with a dirty bomb in a brief case or vile of biological weapons to kill massive amounts of people and cause pyschological damage to the entire world. A thousand years ago it would be impossible for one person to kill this many people at once. Terrorist attacks are becoming more massive and in the future, there is a real possibility that one pyschotic person could kill millions.
You have to consider how hard it would be for a terrorist to take over a plane if it only takes a couple of minutes to fly from one destination to another. By the time you get up to attack the pilot, you've already landed!
I'm not an aerospace engineer, but I do remember in physics that planes go 'up' by the lift compenent. This is dependent on creating a low pressure area above the wing. However, I've often wondered how the physics change when you are approaching space and the air thins. Wings become less useful. This is evident with our hilarious looking space shuttles. We strap a bus onto 2 gigantic fuel sources, which don't rely on the lift compenent of regular planes and scram jets.
I am amazed that it's only 6 out of 10 computer security professionals. I attended defcon and the 'hack the vote' lecture. Anyone who saw that lecture has to agree that there are serious flaws in e-voting.
considering money is just a symbolic representation of value, it seems reasonable that 8 megs was more valuable 20 years ago and cost a lot more money.
I was thinking it would be great to have a paper ballot outside of every election station. This way we could see if any voting fraud was going on. This is something we could do in the Nov. 2004 election just targeting E-voting districts and only for the presidential race, you can only pick between kerry and bush thus eliminating a lot of time counting the unofficial votes. It would also be interesting to see who the 3rd party voters would pick between bush and kerry. However, it's also possible to duplicate the exact election with all candidates.
This could be done with volunteers from both the republican party and democratic party, with the sole goal of making sure the e-voting is accurate. Since the government doesn't want to do this job it's up to us.

Really, it does not matter what sort of degree you hold. The key to making a lot of money is to own your own business. Being an employee means you are always making someone else money.
Money is just a symbolic representation of value. If you are able to produce value for a massive amount of people, such as a business or entertainer, you deserve massive amounts of money. Being an employee usually means you are providing value to one person, your employer.

Why is "Laura Hughes, vice president of national marketing" in charge instead of computer experts?
