Only a day working on computers? I hit my breaking point two christmases ago when I spend 3 days out of a 7 day visit fixing various computers. This christmas, several people asked me to look at their computers. All but one accepted a polite declination. She (one of my folks's friends) apparantly spazzed out and is still bitter that I wouldn't even look at her machine.

Many HD platters these days are not metal, but glass. Found out the hard way when I tried to bend a busted DeskStar platter and it shattered into a billion tiny pieces, and cut up my hand.
Seriously, my mom's ethernet card had a busted RJ45 jack... the tab on the plug did not keep it retained. The cat would often go behind the desk and unplug it. Once a month or so I'd get a frantic phone call that her "Internet was broken!" and have to remind her to plug the cable back in. When I was visiting a few months ago, I offered to replace it, but she declined, saying that the one she had worked fine. So, I superglued the plug into the card. Problem solved.
Anyone know how to get superglue out of cat fur?

And of course, Archimedes pretty much a cat's whisker away from discovering the integral around 200 BC, as described in the nearly lost work "The Method"
Maybe they had the good sense to actually fix the problem by spending the wallet-busting ten dollars and fifty-five cents for a new throttle cable.

Isn't gasoline pretty dangerous stuff? I mean, I know it's quite explosive....(From what I recall from freshman chem:) ) Does anyone remember the multiple gasoline explosions that occur every day??
Which brings my question - how do you stablize gasoline so it's not so explosive?.....A car accident could spell disaster if not properly contained...Or am I wrong?
Just FYI, books, magazines, and electronic media are always cheapest to ship via the post office "Media Mail" rate. Probably would have cost onlt $30-$40 bucks.

No, we need more TLDs and less morons. Problem solved.
Too bad we can't moderate (-1, Dumbass).

Yes, because bronze is obviously non-conductive, eh? Are you sure they didn't switch to bronze because it's more corrosion resistant?
