You'll appreciate Firefox 3 when it's released then, because it now integrates with the UI on each platform, and it does it pretty darn well as far as I'm concerned. I'm using 3b3pre under GNOME and it even uses the icons from the current theme. It's pretty schmick.
That's one area I wouldn't mind seeing a little bathroom graffiti/vandalism. I might even consider supplying it (but probably not). It would probably only take two or three ruined LCDs to make the owners realise it's not worth their while.
I only skimmed the article, but I'm pretty sure it said the attack failed in Firefox, Opera, etc. because of a flaw in the Flash plugin, not because those browsers are more secure.
Does it strike anyone else as strange that GNOME (which, I understand, began as an alternative to KDE because of its reliance on non-free software) is apparently such an enthusiastic supporter of Microsoft technologies like OOXML and.NET?
I noticed this this afternoon. I haven't read TFA, so I don't know if they mention it, but switching from listing/viewing messages is pretty much instant now. It appears to pre-load messages, which is nice.
I know. GNOME is power hungry. It wants to be in charge (at least, it does on Ubuntu). Network settings, power settings, and now it wants your graphics hardware settings too. This is good in that it's grandma-friendly, but it's also kinda frustrating having to wrest control of my hardware away from the GUI.
What was wrong with Beta 5?
Perhaps one day ISPs will be able to capture that energy and use it to power their data centers. It would be green energy in more ways than one! ;)
You can pick a female up and hug it - only adult males have the spur, iirc.
No, I think think you mean Plazmid's Addendum: As the popularity of Godwin's Law increases, the chances of its misapplication approache one. ;)
He's talking about SCO.
Don't patents apply to the method and copyright to the implementation?
It's 158.
Try pressing the 'turbo' button. :)
Do you mean the Antikythera Mechanism?
Here's his site: http://thebadboys.org/Brain/

Someone didn't get a Wii for Christmas. :p

Try Foxit Reader. It's small and quite fast.
No, thank you.

Does anyone know what using Java in OpenOffice actually does? What difference does it make if you disable it?
I'd just like to point out that I wasn't being superior or sarcastic here. Apologies if I sounded like a prick.
I guess that upmod answers my question.
Please excuse my bumbling ignorance, but wouldn't breaking a contract fall under civil law?
Or: last one to go blind wins.
Yes, but will it run Vista?
