    But size matters!
    In a typical in-ear unit, the entire volume of the device (DAC+amp+microphone+speaker+circuit board) is less than 1/2 a cubic cm, smaller than a regular DAC chip by itself. Those are ones that cost 3 grand per ear.

    Trying to fit all these components into such a tiny volume is really tricky engineering, and requires assembly under a microscope.
    If you don't mind one of the old-fashioned kind that hang around your neck like an iPod, then it could be make dirt cheap.

    I assume you have paid off your mortgage. If not, UBI certainly won't leave enough left over after food, utilities, etc. to continue paying it.

    As I've said, I don't use electricity to heat my water. Or my house, or dry my clothes, or cook, etc. Natural gas is used for all that.

    What's the point of a bipedal robot anyway?
    Add two more legs and all balance issues disappear. Quadruped animals have no trouble navigating human environments (watch a dog running around your house).
    If there were no room for four legs (like when driving a car), the front legs could fold into the body out of the way.
