Ah, I haven't read TFA and I haven't looked them on the iTMS but I know it's not really my thing because I don't like bands. Anyway I hope that they get a lot of sales from this exposure and won't give CDex much trouble.
Given that Zeta is aiming at the general desktop... I just don't see them managing to get enough strng application support to really pull that off.
I haven't done any research but I imagine that beos is
1.more secure than windows
2.Easier to use/setup than *nix and win.
3.lightweight => low system requirements
4.Less complex => less to break
This sounds ideal for people who don't know much about computers and just want to check mail, browse the net, could do with a 500MHz cpu and don't care that photoshop isn't available for their system; eg, mom, pop and older people.
Yes and faster ethernet cards have faster clocks because according to relatively theory time slows down if you go faster. Thus, a fast card needs a faster clock to compensate for the slower time.
I just don't understand the total fascination with anime around here. I don't think it's dumb or undeserving; I just don't think it's worthy of the unwavering high praise it gets. And another thing, is there really a high correlation between geeks/nerds and anime? In my experience the answer is yes, even though I personally hate it. I don't understand why this is.
Well, I started to watch anime because I find 'real' movies becoming increasingly disappointing. You also have to understand that not all anime is the same, there are many variations. I maybe only like 10% of all anime but it's still worth seeking out those 10%.
The second is merely incomplete. As speakers we may use the language as you describe (for example, "Bob is going to the store. I want to go with."), but that hardly makes it correct;
Unless ofcourse you're writing speak language (eg a fiction story). It would be nice to have an option to ignore such soft errors when it appears between quotes, for example: [ Alice nodded and said "I want to go with." ] This is very complex because the checker needs to follow the conversation between Alice and the other person(s). Such option would be very helpfull to reduce the number of false positives.
Anyone succesfully tried the cheap way?: using ear plugs to reduce outside noise and putting on top of that some big headphones. I imagine you need an equalizer to get a decent sound with that setup.
Hmm interesting, an informative question. I suspect it's an rethorical question and I shouldn't reply. However, I think we should ban this form of information transfer since it's confusing as hell?
>> What about getting women there ?
> Geeks can't get women here, so isn't that a rhetorical question?
You shouldn't reply if you think it's a rhetorical question.
That's fine until you need feature X of Vista, then you also have to upgrade the hardware because with Vista comes the unwanted features Y and Z which require 32x more RAM etc.
This can't go on forever. All this publicity isn't good for anyone. Sooner or later Google will turn into a coke sniffing, fat, corporation. After it's death there will be rumors spread by die-hard-fans claiming Google is still alive and faked it's own death.

This post is probably overrated.
I am an old fashioned pirate, I just sing out loud the songs I hear. Like in the old days. No DRM that can shut me up.

Code conversion? Sounds like a nice job for some internships.

1. It pauses booting while the BIOS messages are displayed (mem/hd/irq...).
2. It breaks the compiling/building in ms visual studio.
BTW if scrolllock and numlock are removed, there is only one LED left to play with, that's no fun.
the exclusion of R&D costs.

Indeed, we slashdotters take our pleasure in redundant postings. I predicted the parent post almost word for word before I clicked the link.

I would rather have one-breasted women, one really big breast.
high-security step 1: Assume there is no such thing as a secure web browser.
I know what you're doing, you are trying to de-funnify my post.

I thought the primary purpose of an OS is to manage resources, not to eat it.

No problemo, I still have my sunglasses and half a pack of cigarettes. Let's hit it.
Bose-Einstein condensates ofcourse, for our quantum entangled transportation needs.
(just trying to keep the silliness at level)
Concidering the number of safety freaks on this planet there will be something in place by then, so don't worry be happy.
YES! In their face!@
I'll not let anything implanted in my head unless it also displays the current time in my upper right vision.
I'll take some of the heat off you. Let's burn some karma. Here we go. MODERATORS ARE STUPID FUCKERS.
