If you only need syntax and buildin functions, wouldn't it be faster to look it up in the references/manuals on the php site? As an experienced programmer you only need the specs of each function/syntax. Example code shows only how to connect the dots in one particular way but that knowledge is very limited when you don't know the full specs. I find a clearly written reference way more usefull than a handfull of examples and if I recall correctly, the php site has some good documentation online.
Yeah, except for the digital aspect, there isn't much difference between geek life and real life.

yeah but too much isn't good either. The last thing you want is crawling through pages of example code while it can be explained just as well in only a few lines.
GMail: Nothing to see here except very good marketing. Who ever uses 1 GB of email? Nobody.
Well that's exactly the point! No one will run out of space. If people do use 1GB of email then the mailbox should be even larger. Which btw is exactly what happend.
Ah yes it appears so. If address 0 would be initilized with a halt instruction, it would ofcourse be done just before the program counter wraps around.
fta:
Execution just happily continues at 0000_0000 - in RAM! Apparently the i386 CPU family throws no exception in this case, Microsoft's engineers only assumed it or misread the documentation and never tested it.
The article says that they assumed or misread the documentation . This is so easy to test I find it hard to believe they wouldn't knew about this. I think they knew it and just accepted it. Too bad the article doesn't mention what code there is at address 0000, if there's an halt or illegal instruction then they knew it.
What the alarmists fail to acknowledge is that they don't get to decide at what point the Earth is "overpopulated". I don't think the Earth is overpopulated at the moment, nor will it be if we reach eight billion. My opinion is just as valid (or invalid) as any alarmist figure.
That's why the GP stated some facts (about fish etc) that may indicate overpopulation which you choosed to conveniently ignore.
Every single analysis of 'sustainability' by the folks preaching doom and gloom over the Earth's carrying capacity assumes that *technology will never advance beyond what we have now*.
So you do admit there seems to be a slight problem and you think tech will solve it? Tech may be helpfull but isn't the answer. Free power and food do not exist and never will, increasing earth surface area to allow other (now almost extinct) species isn't possible (at least on mid term). Extending human life is certainly likely to be possible and therefore only increasing the population.
CDs are better quality but LPs are more fun (especially when playing electronic music). You can see it spin, you can scratch, you can beatmix, you can quickly hop the needle forward/backward and if you look closely at the groove you can spot where the breaks are. Ofcourse you need a steady hand to do this, so it's probably less enjoyable for old folks. Besides that, I noticed that nothing enhances acid techno better than a bit of crackle and hiss. But yeah indeed, usually I listen to digitized music on cd or mp3.
That's why I amputated my penis, I don't want penis cancer and I am not using it anyway. In the near future I am going to amputate my feet to avoid legcancer (it's also part of an experiment unrelated to cancer).
That's an interesting analogy.

This post is probably overrated
Hacking the xbox is also a game, just a different game. You play pre-made games, other people make their own games.

We don't need story lines, we use our imagination.

professional don't need to learn php because it's asp.net everywhere.
lol. Next time post faster and as AC. I got +5 with that lame joke in this thread.
Third rule of slashdot is if you disobey the first and second rule, state the three rules in an additional post.
