Another "outsider" will be backing a video game company, presumably looking for success in Western markets. If you look at the biggest sellers in NA, the majority are from local publishers and developers. A lot of Japanese developers have merged because of failures in the West (SquareEnix, Sega/Sammy, etc). There is a divide between what each hemisphere wants from games and the Japanese seem to be losing ground.
Most viruses are exploits of things MS has patched months earlier. If Firefox becomes mainstream can we count on the average user to update or will an out of date Firefox become nearly as bad as IE?
There is a flag in prefs where entering something in the address bar goes to the #1 google result for that ____ OR ____.com
Personally i think the google result option is really freaking annoying.
Apologies for being off topic here.
I took down the sig link. I didn't know it can be a scam if no money is exchanged, but that article says it's a scam regardless.
It isn't a scam. The company behind the site is registered with the Bester Business Bureau. It is essentially a pyramid scheme but no money is spent to join. You just get some spam.
``It still amazes me that I should have to go through this at all,'' Wolfe said. ``I started my shopping service called Froogles almost two years before Google started a shopping service called Froogle. What more does anyone need to know?''
Hope you can keep your site or get a big payout buddy.
Is there really enough demand for user-replacable batteries that companies will start using them? Products with non-replacable batteries seem to sell despite this shortcoming. Plus the company makes an extra couple of bucks if/when the user has to get a new battery.
Personally, I recharge all my stuff every night, and would prefer a long lasting battery (ie. many charges) that remains charged for a shorter time. If that makes sense.
Can you really design traffic of the future without every having a clear idea of population growth in various areas? I live by I-95 and really doubt that traffic can be planned for.
Additionally, I think that if someone wants to give away something for free (like linux distributions) then they shouldn't have to worry about patents and such. Only if they are selling the product for profit should they be liable for lawsuit
Just because you don't profit from something doesn't mean you are exempt from patent laws. (I am NOT saying Linux is doing this!)
You can't stay out of jail because you gave cocaine away but didn't sell it...
Forgot to mention that Creative doesn't support OGG files. Neither does the iPod, but to me and lots of/.ers this makes Creative players useless.

The Creative mp3 players have more storage and cost less than most other players. The sound quality is superior to the iPod and other competitors. They also have a user replacable batteries. The computer software is not so great though.

HD-DVD holds more hours of HD video despite Blu-Ray holding more raw data.

The best SSIDs are generic names like linksys or default. Generic names most always mean I get free wireless access.
