Exactly, they can pick up packets being sent by the DS but cannot decrypt them. I have been able to do that via net stumbler since I turned on my DS for the first time on NA release day. The project is nothing but vaporware and some kiddies getting a thrill out of everyone liking them in the warppipe forums. The only actual code they have is a piece of warppipes program before they closed the source.
These guys have been making claims that can not be accomplished, such as 100% compatability and the project was supposed to be fully released 8 days after anouncing it. Their newest claim is compatibility with all prism based cards and their release date has been pushed back for an unknown reason. I have heard rumors that they got as far as receiving a signal from their DS, but can not figure out the encryption. The fact is this project is nothing but a bunch of 12 year olds begging for programmers in the warppipe forums and every now and then they wonder over to the xlink forums and start some flamewars. 2-3 good games what are you thinking? Almost any Nintendo only game is worth owning. Metroid Prime 1 & 2, Pikmin 1 & 2, Mario Kart DD, Mario Sunshine, Wario Ware, Paper Mario 2.........
You should try a DS w/ your gba games, the screen is so much better. It does not bleed the colors out like the GBA does, and the sound is amazing. Until you have tried it you should not formulate an opinion.
The DS harware will be the same worldwide, just import one, it will be the same thing as what you would buy when it is released in the UK. By the way the UK is rumored to have a better choice of launch games than the US, including such games as Mario Kart.
The DS has a significantly larger amount of ram that the game can be loaded from compared to the gba, which is why you noticed such a difference in quality with the gba. This problem should no longer exist in the DS unless it is a very advanced game as the ds has 4 megs of ram to load the game into via the wireless connection. Being that both games apparently run the same and the hardware(ds) is exactly the same, I can be confident that the gaming quality was not part of the reason to make the games different.
I am willing to bet they figured they could sell more in NA w/ xmas coming up and all and the need for a game for each player would boost sales. The sad part is that most companies will force everyone to own the game in order to play, if I recall correctly there were quite a few gameboy/advanced games that could play multiplayer off of one cart, but those games are nothing compared to the amount of games that requited a cart for each player. Pure and simple more money is made when everyone owns the game. There is also a much better group of launch games to compete with in Japan, compared to the NA launch, they got other games such as Wario Ware (which has been the highest rated launch title for any region)
We ended up taking one of the dust machines and blowing it out with some canned air. During the process we feared that it would no longer work once the dust was all gone, but it all ended fine. As long as you don't clog up any fans or have anything actually "burn" in there from the heat of the parts all should be fine. The poster's p3/celeron whatever it may be does not actually require a cpu fan so it should be able to survive our dust stories.
I have had some overheating problems with my athlon xp 1900+ in the past, so I started to keep my windows in my bedroom open 24x7 durring the winter, this solved my overheating problems and the computer seemed to run better as I was sitting in front of it seeing my breath.
As far as the dust goes, I used to work in an IT Dept. for a factory that made security doors for mall shops, They had some old computers through out the factory that were used to operate some of the machines. I did maintainance on a few of them and when they were opened there was literally a layer of thick dust covering everything inside, this didn't effect any internal parts, the only thing we ever had to replace on these pc's were floppy drives. I am talking pentium 1 generation boxes here, so I would venture that yours should be pretty safe since your garage should not produce near the amount of dust that this factory produced.
If you get a gba cart you can write your own ebooks to it and open them on any gba compatable device. As far as I know they may need to be converted to a text document before they can be converted for use on the gba.

Doesn't work in OOo, it more than likely uses VB code.

Worked like a charm, I wish I had some mod points left for you, someone should mod him up so everyone can see it.

I stand corrected.
Actually the NA launch was 2 or so weeks before the Japan launch.

If I remember correctly, Adaptec (Roxio, whatever your gonna call them) built the cd burning capabilities that were inserted into windows XP.
Noone should be using DVD-X copy anyways, dvdshrink is where it is at. Better quality and better price(free).
