Actually, there isn't much defense against someone drawing and shooting you as you're already dead. That's why the star wars remake with Han Solo shooting second is so often ridiculed.
They were previews - which means the theater was darkened (except for the blinding light from the cell phone) and the trailers which are mini-movies in themselves - were being played. The guy was just being rude.
My thoughts as well. I hope this gets major publicity and people start to think a little bit about not bothering others around them. Not to condone what the officer did, but sometimes things just set people off.
I think it depends on the quality of the ghetto. I'll admit my friends' area (35th and Prospect, Kansas City) is especially blighted (what with drug dealers and prostitutes all over the main street), though my friends still have atrocious cooking habits and skills. I once brought a package of good steaks to one family's house, and the mom proceeded to marinate and destroy all of the natural flavor and then overcooked them. I no longer bring steaks. I think cooking skill is largely a personal thing, as my parents who are quite well off are amazing cooks.
Sorry Moosh, but you obviously don't know anyone who lives in a ghetto. Nearly all of the neighborhoods grocery stores have been closed for over a decade, the one store that still exists has the creepiest looking packaged meat you've ever seen, and your idea of knowing how to cook must involve eating hamburger helper every night. My experience with my poor friends is the opposite of your claims.
Try shopping at a 'supermarket' in a lower income area. See how your choices change from fresh produce and quality protein to frozen everything and variations of junk food.
Exactly. Most low income areas are lucky to even have a supermarket. Some of my friends spend a fair portion of their ebt (or whatever those cards are) at the local Walgreens.
I wouldn't be surprised if any conservatives in charge actually want to increase medical costs if only to make any of Obama's health initiatives more likely to fail or look bad.
My mom - who used to be a member of the local green party, and definitely on the low end of the income scale - ended up watching a bit of fox news with her boyfriend over the years. It was shocking how much she would complain about Obama and various liberal policies after a few years of propaganda.
Even though it's Yahoo, I checked it out, and with adblock it looks much like a windows 8 screen. It was very visual, and some of the pictures were intriguing, like the 12 foot ramen noodles sculpture.
Where I work, we still have some 800Mhz machines running XP that are used for a web-based time-in/out system. They fulfill that purpose just fine. It's been my experience that old machines are quite useful until you install antivirus on them.
I like how every posting I've seen blaming the current economy on the opposite viewpoint (too much regulation) is posted AC. Why are they hiding if they actually believe what they are writing? I don't see that many people blaming deregulation hiding their identities.

Exactly. None of this would have occurred with a little mutual respect and common decency.
Yes, that's exactly why this situation occurred. Without disincentives to carrying guns and murdering people, gun users will keep murdering.
Thus we have laws to discourage such activity.
Where did I say it's ok? He really just deserved to be thrown out, or tazed at most.
Grow up.
From what I understand, part of growing up involves being considerate of others -- not texting during their enjoyment of movies and previews
That's exactly why this situation occurred. Without disincentives, the texters will keep texting.
So you would rather the texter that caused all this get off scott free?
Yes, I look forward to a society where everyone can bother everyone around them with absolutely no repercussions. Yay freedom!
People who play their obnoxiously loud car stereos at all hours of the night.
You are correct. As suggested by another poster, he should merely have been tazed.

Hmm. I guess you're right. Tazing the offenders would be suitably gratifying without the loss of life.
The report I saw said previews -- which are liked by many.
Who knows if it will solve anything, but nothing would have changed without the shooting.
My thoughts as well. I hope this gets major publicity and people start to think a little bit about not bothering others around them. Not to condone what the officer did, but sometimes things just set people off.
It's pretty obvious that the NSA disappeared her.

I'm pretty sure that's the modem...
