    My dad - who has been a lawyer many years and a public defender for quite a few of them once told me that the cop has the gun and that you don't want to piss him off. It would be rather easy for an officer to straight up kill you and then frame you so it looks like you instigated the situation. Granted not all (or even many?) officers are like this, but do you want to take the chance?

    Assuming this encryption actually works, it probably wreaks major havoc with processor caching and branch prediction algorithms. I'd be interested in seeing benchmarks of this encryption in action vs the non-encrypted version.

    Avoiding commercials is more of a mental health thing for me. I can do without some 90 minutes of yelling, blaring, and mental manipulation every day (assuming a binge watching day).

    Wouldn't option 2 actually give full control of your device to whoever wrote the code that jailbroke your device? Hopefully they are trustworthy.

    I've been waiting for a decent and affordable laptop ever since Toshiba first came out with color screens on theirs. I still don't have a laptop.

    Drones can operate in fully autonomous modes, so jamming frequencies won't protect against someone not using radio.

    I wouldn't be so sure. Check out this youtube video of an amateur performing stunts with an rc helicopter. All these drones need are sophisticated enough software and they'll be doing it too.

    I'd bet what you hear are aftermarket exhausts. People love to install them due to marketing claims of gaining 10+ horsepower and they aren't required to meet government noise regulations ("off-road use only").

    While objectively, he could have spent the 50k on a better car to start with, he did at least spend it on a hobby that made him happy, and he has something he put personal energy and can take pride in. Much like building your own computer vs. buying an alienware.
