    Mac OS X is a cell phone OS?

    iOS is closer to desktop OS X than Android is to desktop Linux. There is no virtual-machine craziness going on in iOS - it runs standard Mach-O binaries.

    The Galaxy Tab runs a cell phone OS, just as the iPad does. It is not a "PC in slate format," as those haven't done particularly well in the market.

    Rights are inherent, and exist independently of any government. The Constitution does not grant rights; it doesn't even promise to protect them. It just says that the Federal government promises not to violate certain rights enumerated in the Constitution. Whether or not they've kept that promise is a different issue.

    Why should Microsoft kill Windows, exactly? In pretty much all respects, it's a reasonably modern, secure, and stable operating system.

    You don't know the difference between interpreted code and JIT? CLR is JIT, and generally a bit more aggressive about compiling than, say, the client Java VM.

    "No similarly specced Windows laptop at the same price"? I brought a faster laptop (Acer, dual Athlon at 2.2GHz, 3GB of RAM) for $500 in 2009. Now I'm supposed to pay $500 for a system with netbook-class hardware, and be thankful for it?

    The US is reducing its nuclear forces, including massive reductions (a large majority of its total nuclear arsenal) since 1991, while fielding no new warhead designs or nuclear delivery systems. Or were you referring to the Russian Federation, which has reduced its total number of warheads while continuing to actively develop new nuclear first-strike platforms, like the RS-24 and the Bulava?

    Most netbooks are 32-bit x86 (i386.) It's not safe to assume x64 is universal among PC's yet.

    US tax revenue is about $2tn. You aren't going to be able to cut $1.3tn without dipping into mandatory expenditures (social security, healthcare, etc). Defense is big, but not big enough to cover the difference, and there's no realistic way to do massive cuts to defense without resulting in massive unemployment (industries related to the DoD are enormous.) Long-term, the various healthcare programs do need cuts taken out of them, and real tax increases are going to be needed to produce a surplus. Even then, it won't be easy, and I'm unconvinced that either party is willing to take the necessary steps.

    Exactly. The Jordanians want nothing to do with the Palestinians - trying to overthrow the King put an end to that. The Arabs treat the Palestinians much worse than the Israelis do, with mass expulsions by both Jordan and Kuwait.

    Most (or at least many) Japanese cars are actually manufactured in the United States. My Accord was made in Ohio.

    What about the PRC's massive (and almost entirely self-inflicted) demographic issues? How will this glorious, invincible, socialist juggernaut keep growing 8% a year when half the population is over 60?
