    1. No, dude. I don't believe mono runs in a hidden copy of windows. What i meant is that both OS implementations require a service which translate to machine language more or less realtime. To boot itself into his own bootstraps using C# is very interesting, but will require compiled stuff at least for the bootloader, the virtual machine and at least the beginning of the process manager. Interesting but complex. 2. You don't seem to realize how many times more instructions you need for a system like this in comparisson to a plain c version. It's not only a bit slower, it's a lot slower. (oh, by the way, try to make a browser and word run at the same on a pc without an OS, and tell me how well you did without disk driver, memory mgr, process mgr, video drivers and other io drivers)

    Anybody knows how this thing works? I mean, I understand you can use LVM to bind together the 4 hd in the same computer as a logical Volume, but how do you put together devices from many nodes (computers) as a single logical volume?
