There is a huge back lash against Apple evidenced on this page, so much rubbish being talked, and modded up to 5. The Microsoft bloggers are earning there free laptops today.
Apple isn't perfect, but a lot of the smack talk being spoken here isn't the problem.
Apple release a new version of there OS every year, the next one will cost $29 to upgrade. You don't have to, just as you don't need to move from XP to Vista, as many of us haven't.

Calderon is probably rethinking whether he can actually win the drug war. This decriminalization may be the first sign that he is accepting the fact that narcotics is an integral part of Mexican culture.

I really enjoyed district 9, but felt disappointed as well. It is a great sci-fi movie, but it fell into the common trap of a lot of movies these days. It was hoping it would focus on a struggle between the aliens and people, instead it focused on the struggle between one man, and two aliens. It felt like a tv show, did not focus on the big picture.
I know, future robots should act exactly like I fantasise them in my head, same with alien animals. Anything else is just weird.
This is nitpicking to a ridiculous level. You imagine your fantasy creatures your own way, and make a movie about them. You need to let go of this when you view other peoples movies.
You might as well complain that tintin had a different voice in the animate movies to the one you imagined in your head when reading the comics.

I agree with you, but this he is referring to the compiler optimising code to suit x86 processors, like pipelines, and minimising branches, and having enough instructions between branches, and better use of registers. A lot of effort goes into compilers to optimise for processors these days, something that would be a real pain keeping track of in assembly.

IBM makes more money overseas than it does here. They would survive, no problems. And maybe do better, without having to employ people here.
Of course, they would take a huge hit for it, and that is why they wouldn't do it.
