    You don't need a 12mb camera, you have fallen for the megapixel mix. You need a good camera with a big sensor, a good lens, and good noise reduction, something that you wont see in a phone camera yet. And yes, I am talking point and shoot.

    However, I have seen plenty of people with a Vivitar camera, with the plastic lens, no better than a camera phone.

    Which speaks against this parable, once we start migrating devices, it is better and cheaper to buy a device with everything you want. All you are waiting for is more memory and a better camera.

    Ok, so since there were skeptics at Moore's Law in the beginning, then anything goes from now on? Somehow you use this as a justification to never listen to skeptics anymore. That is just idiotic. You know there will people skeptical about the P4 as well, and Itanium.

    I had a customer who wanted to have the scrollbar on the top of the display box, rather than the bottom. A rather simple fix, sure, no problem. Except it can't be done, there is not easy way to do this. I had to implement my own scroll using CSS and javascript, an absolutely horrible hack.

    But it is what they wanted, and they were happy.

    Do you know how hard that is to actually get anything done? So i can' trust word documents or even images, because outlook may hide the fact that it is an exe. I can't trust the sender of the email because that maybe spoofed, or someone I know may have been infected. Even if I am expecting a document, it could still be infected. I can't go to a website link that someone sends me, because even just looking could infect IE.

    So, the only real way to be sure if not to do my job, not to communicate with people.

    I think we need a shotgun for the fucking IT people who designed this useless system.

    With Android, you get access to piles and piles of code without having to pay anyone. Want to know how the default music player works? Just look at the source code. Good luck finding the source to the iPhone's music player.

    The guy above you doesn't know what he is talking about. You can download the SDK, start writing your app without paying Apple a sent. You get the entire development environment for it, all in one handy package (You will need a mac). There are loads of tutorials, including many video ones, and huge development communities for the Iphone as well.

    This is a joke, there is no reason it should be like this. Surely Apple can test where this speed bottleneck is coming from, and sort it out. There is no way a modern operating system should require a full install. I know, with Microsoft OS you would be insane not to do a full install, but that is no excuse for Apple.

    No, they don't. If you guys haven't figured out yet that User Experience is very important to Apple, then you need to now. The fact is that this Google App does make the UE more confusing, because there would now be two places to make calls, two places to send SMS and read your SMS, both with different messages in them.

    Sure, the average slashdotter would have no problem with this, but Apple don't aim there devices at those, they aim them at everybody.

    Seriouosly, I think you are full of shit.

    GV duplicates a lot of the functionality of the iPhone, and does things slightly differently. There are two ways to make a call, two ways to read and send SMS. This will confused some people, maybe not the people who install GV, but that is an aside.

    They have a point. These things are important to Apple, just because you can't understand that does not mean you can go on ignoring that fact.

    That is funny. We bought a brand new Motorola phone in the US for $40, which included $20 worth of minutes. I have never been able to do that anywhere else, in Sweden, Australia, UK, anywhere.

    Well, you didn't upgrade XP because there hasn't been a upgrade for it yet. Don't count Vista. (BTW, how much does Vista Ultimate cost these days).

    Therefore, why upgrade Mac OS? Why would you just not buy the 10.5 outright?

    On top of all that, Mac OS has way more stuff in it than Xp/Vista.

    I hate defending Mac, but the bullshit you and your friends is bringing up is just ridiculous.
