    You are ignorant. If I bought a computer to run Vista, for whatever stupid reason I might have, then I want to run Vista, not Window XP. Why is this such a difficult concept for people here to understand.

    Most of us have no problems of weaknesses in the theory of Evolution. We just haven't heard any, at least not any scientific weaknesses. The weaknesses proposed by many of faith are just a joke (the banana, lack of fossils), and don't deserve to be given any time.

    Does anyone really believe this guy?

    There are some things that annoy me about my new Mac, but that doesn't compare to the crap I had to go through with windows, that I don't have to worry about anymore. You couldn't pay me to go back to windows. And I have been programming Microsoft OS since Dos v3.2, all the way through to 4 months ago.

    There are some great things in Windows, but Mac provides a much better and richer experience.

    Wow, what a crazy statement. Personally, I like to now the culture of the company I am interested in working in, and the culture doesn't magically change when the owners leave.

    You seem to not find this useful, congratulation. But it is idiotic to say other people shouldn't find this useful, just because they care about stuff like this.

    The whole point was to give consumers "choice" by making them install WMP themselves. Don't ask for something and then cry when you get it.

    What an idiotic statement. This isn't exactly what we asked for, but heh, that doesn't matter does it? Who cares, you got something, you should be happy.

    EU Should just come down hard, I would be happy to see Windows banned. To many morons don't see any alternative, I have worked at purely Microsoft shops that work like shit. All the places I have worked that have considered open source software, or using the best software for the job operate much better.

    I disagree, there are a lot things that takes to be a good manager, and being good to your team is only one of them. Dealing with upper management is also important.

    What this sounds like to me is sour grapes, considering that the guy telling the story only spoke to the manager who was fired. In this situation, I would not believe a word that is said.

    I find using XCode a much more pleasant experience that Visual Studio, and I have been programming PCs since MS-Dos 3.2. There are a few annoying things, like the error messages could be improved, and you need to restart it every few days.

    You don't work with stats regularly, or you would realise how wrong you are.

    Or do you think that there is exactly the same chance of a developer for Windows getting into iPhone development, as it is for a Mac Developer? Or do you think it is more likely that a Mac Developer, who already knows objective-c, Xcode, Quartz, mac development, would get into iphone? Since it would take a few hours for a Mac Developer to produce an iphone app, I think that they would be much more likely.

    Netbooks saved Microsoft, they realised they needed to tune the OS to run on less-speced machines, and have made a OS that runs better on all hardware.

    What a pointless statement. Nobody is saying Linux is perfect, but it is a damn site better than windows as far as security goes. It was built to be secure from the ground up, whereas Windows was built to be single user, with security added on later.

    Your linux server could have been exploited because you used a bad password, or left the root password as a standard, or screwed up the PHP implementation, or even allowed SQL injection - nothing to do with Linux.

    They were probably reviewing a pre-release version of the game, in which these features were eventually removed. A common thing to do for Magazines, when you need to get the review out before the game has been released.

    The Manager doesn't want to know about the intricacies of security, just as they don't want to know all about the website, network, water delivery, etc. That is your job. This seems obvious to me, but people who want to explain every little thing to there manager are so annoying and ignorant. As a manager, I can't be concerned with every little aspect of business, I look at the bigger picture.

    He isn't saying people are getting rid of their desktops for netbooks, he is saying that consumers are buying more netbooks, and less desktops. This means that people are holding onto their desktops for longer.
