  1. Rogers on Canadian ISPs Send Thousands of Copyright Notices · · Score: 1

Funny about all this - I got one of these letters from Rogers the other day saying that I was illegally supplying (via a torrent) copies of "Grand Theft Auto". I wrote them back to point out that: - I don't torrent - I don't play (or own) "Grand Theft Auto" - the IP that they quote as being me isn't even me So far I have yet to hear back from them.

  2. What About Straw? on Urging Congress to Cancel the Ethanol Tariff · · Score: 1

Don't forget straw. Iogen is has built a small pilot plant in Ottawa that uses straw (a natural normally almost completely useless byproduct of wheat farming) to make ethanl. http://www.iogen.ca/company/technology/cellulose_e thanol.html

  3. Needing a boat? on Urging Congress to Cancel the Ethanol Tariff · · Score: 1

"How many people who own boats really "need" them?" I think we should also remember that some people tow sailboats that while requiring a heavy tow vehicle do not consume fossil fuels once underway on the water. Not every boat own owns a motorboat.

  4. Re:Oh Please on Spam is Dead · · Score: 1

Funny part is that since I activated my Gmail account (in mid-December) the only person or organization I gave the address to was Google News Alerts, and guess what? I get spam. Interesting that either people are good at guessing GMail addresses or else Google sells the mailing list?

  5. Who prints 100% anyway? on Why Do-It-Yourself Photo Printing Doesn't Add Up · · Score: 2, Insightful

Yes, they are more expensive, but I probably print out less than 1% of what I take pictures of. That's where the savings swing back in my direction, I'm not paying to develop 100% of the pictures I take (only print out pictures to give to friends who don't have e-mail (poor souls!)).

  7. Quad Dual Core Opterons on New 1 Kilowatt PSU - Too Much Power? · · Score: 1

Just a curious question though - as people start to use Tyan motherboards (for example) that support 4 dual-core Opteron chips will we need this kind of power supply?

  8. I always wanted to WiFi there on North Pole Gets Wi-Fi Hotspot · · Score: 4, Funny

Glad they solved this problem. I always wanted to wirelessly connect there.
