The iPhone has changed Apple's business dramatically. iPhone sales have risen strongly over the years, from around 1.4 million iPhones sold in 2007 to more than 216 million units worldwide in 2017. In total, Apple has sold more than one billion iPhones worldwide from 2007 to 2017.
With Android I just plug the phone into a laptop or use one of many file manager apps with a (standard) transfer protocol and point any media app I want to the files. Depends on the device. My Lenovo Yoga Book does not mount as an USB drive. I have the exact same vendor lock in on it as with my iPad. There is actually no way at all to transfer my music from my Mac to my Joga Book. Except via eMail, probably, or I could set up a web server on my Mac and access it from the Yoga Book.
iOS^H^H^HAndroid has a lot more lock in. Try to switch away and you need to re-buy all your apps, your HomePod is a brick, you need to re-upload all your cloud data, your dongles and peripherals are bricked... Fixing that for you.
You had a bad day today?
Hoe can a switch from iOS to Android be more "complicated" than a switch from Android to iOS?
And most stuff I have are books anyway, they download automatically when I register my device.
However that makes me wonder why we still have no Dalvik on iOS... or another way to run Android apps.
Yeah! I feel with you! And worst of it, after the 9 comes a 0!! What is it doing there? All sane programmers have their arrays start with 0, so the 0 should be to the left! Such a no brainer! Sigh, we are surrounded by retards.
You don't get that with a population made up entirely of retirees and jobless beach hobos. Depends on how much pension the retirees receive, don't you think so?
but I imagine they also have a lot of problems with broken software. Not really.
Most operation systems handle time zones quite fine. And it is long a go that MS office software programs where in the news because of wrong handled time zones.
However the shift from and to DST causes a lot of headaches (and bugs).
Regarding work hours you could change the laws. Or introduce laws where you have none. I for my part have no fixed hours when I have to show up at work.
As long as my time period overlaps significantly enough with my coworkers and I'm present at meetings, that is fine.
Well, my GF lives in Thailand. That is 6:00 away from me. With time zones I can easy calculate when she is likely awake. Without timezones I have to memorize when she is awake.
Obviously I still again only would need to memorize the 6h difference... but it would be somehow strange in my mind.
"Oh, we're sleeping because it's one in the morning." Fuck that. How dumb are you?
If you change the time to be the same everywhere they would yell at "what is wrong with you? It is XX we are sleeping" What ever XX is at your place then.
There is no need, but it is convenient. E.g. to know where north and south is... but well, plenty of people don't know that the sun is in the south at noon (on the northern hemisphere).
Causes a nightmare for people with sleep disorders: TRUE WRONG.
If you have sleep disorders the time around you does not matter at all... If I have not slept 36 hours or slept 24hours in a row (with 3 breaks for drinking water or going to the toilet) has nothing to do with the number on the clock.
Depends how many people have a smartphone, or not?

On a planet with 8 billion inhabitants that hardly translates to 14%.
There is no "Apple Advertizing" in iTunes.

I know no "geek" who ever would use a ChromeBook, either.

And where actually are those travel zones that Chinese ships are in danger of pirates and protected by us ships?
Which browser do you use, that it gives you a warning?
And is that warning about the URL or the sites contents?
Well, you can reach me via email at firstname.lastname@comsoft.aero ... I like that email address. The job is cool, too.

Actually no.
As my body is on a 29,5 hour rhythm and I can not find sleep when I go to bed "early".
Regarding work hours you could change the laws. Or introduce laws where you have none.

(I heard it confuses both when they do a hard adjust of milking times twice a year)
Except that they don't do that. What would be the point?

That is why most of the world uses 24 hours ...
I find it rather weird that people at some places (e.g. Thailand) still regularily use AM and PM
Depends I guess.
As tide charts usually are in local time, I see no point in sticking to GMT.
Put perhaps they, do, no idea.

Florida is naturally blessed with longer days than most states due to its southern geography
In winter.
In summer every state farer north has longer daylight. That is actually the point about summer and winter.
Then wake up later :D
Problem solved!
E.g. spend one more hour at night watching youtube ...

Why is this insightful? /. is basically the only news site I read.
I'm happy that the lost bottle of my grand grand pa finally is found.
Please contact me via eMail to talk about the details for shipping it back to me and my family.
He he, could not resist.
But chances are it was french wine or champaign bottle.
