The Berne convention was largely a power grab by European publishers and privileged elites. No it was not. It was a way to let the US aknowledge that European creators have copyrights, too! So the US copyright pirates could no longer exploit the creations of other countries citizens!

So if you talk about industrial mining, haha, interesting word, that might be different. Anyway, mining a BTC does not cost more than a few bucks.
