That's nearly 20 years ago. No lines for any other Windows product, and that includes WinXP, Win7, and the Xbox. There may have been lines for the 360, I remember them being hard to find for a while, but I don't remember lines.

I know the difference. When I use flash my computer jumps to 100% cpu and my fans sound like an airplane getting ready to take off. When I use HTML5 the cpu stays below 50%. Both of these are using the exact same video encoded in H264 but using a different container. This is the reason I champion HTML5, if adobe had improved performance sooner, then I wouldn't have cared, but HTML5 is here and is starting to erode flash (note I didn't say has killed, or will kill. Flash has other uses besides video).

Not sure why you got modded down (maybe for mentioning a Mac), but I agree 1Password works wonders. The new version now includes online access to your passwords and the iPhone version will mean you always have a copy on hand. Downside is that it is Mac only.

Agreed, for family and friends its dinner or beer. Anyone else is $60/hr, and friends of friends fall into this category. This has worked so well that I sometimes get free meals because they fixed it themselves after they remember something I mentioned to someone else, and others only call when they really need the help.

Ad Aware should remove most of the spyware, but there's a lot of stuff that digs itself so far into the system that it's nearly impossible to clean. I also recommend "Hijack This", although it will not remove anything it will give you a list of all running process, then with the help of google, you can disable anything that shouldn't be running. Also be sure to use "msconfig" to disable any processes that try to start at boot time that may be malware (again google is your friend).

Of course when this is all done run a complete virus scan, I use the free version of AVG and haven't had any problems. And also be sure to get all the windows updates.

Last thing to be aware of is that some of this malware will corrupt system files and whatnot and a full reinstall may have to be done anyway, but I always recommend that as a last resort when fixing someone elses machine because there is always something that they forgot to backup and it's you they're going to call to try and find it.

Which member of BNL was this, do you have a link.

They were the first major band to try and utilize p2p. When they released the single "Pinch Me" they posted it on Napster themselves, of course they added a little dialog in the middle of the track, but it was funny and I wish I still had a copy of it.
