I installed a SmartXX - the soldering was much easier than I had thought. I could turn my XBox into a true media hub if only I could access files (through XBMC or my dash) from the network. That way I could store all of my digital media on my XBox and tab into it from wherever I may be. XBMC et. al. only allow you to access shares from the XBox, but not the other way around. Adding that functionality would be an upgrade I would get excited about. Anyone know any differently or have an elegant workaround?

Form factor and raw power pushed me to get an ipaq 4155. The size can't be beat and the 400mhz processor can take anything I've thrown at it (so far).
The first thing that bothers me about the unit, however, is that, while the screen is very nice, VGA would be oh-so-much-better. The newer VGA devices don't impress me due to their larger form factor. And for those who think there isn't a big difference, try holding a Dell in your hand and then a 41xx or 19xx series.
The second thing I would change is the OS. PPC OS is pretty good for a handheld but I'd love to be able to put a linux distro on my device.
I wanted to believe in OpenOffice and downloaded v1.1 about a month ago. I had a hard time using is because, well, this sounds stupid, but it was ugly. The toolbars, that lame clipart... it just turned me off. Office 2003 may lack certain things but it is not ugly.
I just downloaded OpenOffice 2.0 and I have to say that it is looking much better. As soon as it goes public, and they fix that annoying bug that deletes the text on which you insert Comments/Notes, I think I'll finally switch.
I simply cannot believe that we, as an open source community, have not yet duplicated the todo/email/calendar application that managers so love (with good reason too, their jobs often involve quite a few meetings/action items/communications).
And please, please, please do not forget a SEPARATE Journal and Notes applet. Outlook may be too much PIM for some, but I use every bit of functionality.
