ok, i get in IE haaveing a toolbar (popup blocker and searching). However, with fire fox you don't need it. in the tool bar you can set it to search Yahoo just as easly as you can set it to search creative commons. Fire fox also has a popup blocker. i would like it if someone could expalin to me the reson for a Yahoo, or any kind for that matter, tool bar?
so besieds wirting letters, what else can we do to fix this problem? looking for seirous ideas. who would patent reform start with, from where?

Well I don't quite take the statement that far, I do see this case a very important. I don't see this as not being much different then the Marvel V. NCsoft. They both produced a way by which IP law was violated.
if the creator of a product is held liable for the actions of its users and Groakster loses. Then marvel should win its case because NCsoft http://games.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=05/01/19/ 2143224&tid=209&tid=187&tid=123 did create a way for ip law to be violated. and we end up with Crayola being sued by the MPAA because some kid made a Spiderman poster. if Sony losses then Marvel should loses too, (or at least Marvel has a difficult time to porve its case)because NCsoft is not reasonable for what there players do. I can see this case having a far reaching impact. This is just one immediate impact I think this case could have.
But these same methods can be used to take down just about any website. Society makes the final call on what is legal and illegal. Some might say the hackers are using their ethics to take down a vice. But if that was the hackers goal, why ask for money?
I would guess that these script kiddies want money. if they were to attack a site like http://www.amazon.com/ they would have the feds on them before they could hit the return key but, buy targeting a site like gambling. 1) the masses at best are conflicted about witch is worse. "hacking/craking/extortion" or gambaling If it were Amazon or eBay there would be a call for there heads. 2) because it is outside the US FBI, CIA, NSA and or the Department of homeland security probably will not go after them

They have it alredy. to see what i mean type something in the address bar that is not an URL, if it is still default, it will do a MSN search.
