And being a shithead is a great alternative to having an argument, isn't it? You didn't invalidate my point dumbass, Greenpeace would never, EVER let anyone get near the truth, so they would never do anything like release stats that prove what a bunch of self-righteous egotistical whiners they really are. So my experience is all I have to go on, and I've dealt with shitheads such as yourself and Greenpeace more than I care to. Greenpeace activists rarely have jobs, but always seem to have money, and rich parents.

It doesn't matter, they have set a precedent that is incredibly off-putting. If they didn't want to put it in future products, fine whatever, but the fact that they would go and intentionally disable a product I already paid money for is unforgivable. Imagine if you bought a swiss army knife then after you already paid money for it the company came and demanded that it be allowed to remove the screwdriver from the knife... yeah the knife still works for the most part, but now it does less than it did when you paid for it, and the company went out of its way to do so. So what is to prevent them from removing features in the future? Maybe they don't want to support the 3g modem on the vita in a few years, just push out an update that removes that functionality. No problem right?

But increased "sponsor time" is at least in part to blame for the declining quality, esp. of comedy shows in my opinion. When the Simpsons started, they had two and half minutes, or roughly 10% more show time per episode than they do now. The extra time gave the writers more of a chance to better pace out their jokes and had time for better B and C stories. Some of the funniest Simpsons moments are the B and C stories, but there is no way any of those could have stretched into a full story. Part of the reason I think they do some of the extended couch gags nowadays is that the A story isn't enough to fill the whole episode, but whereas in the past they would have had enough time to do a good B story, now they are forced to make up the gap using a couch gag as there is no way they could fit the B story into the time allotted.

Not only does the immigration policy prevent talented people from coming in, it also hampers Americans selling stuff made in the USA abroad. For instance people wonder why Japan sells more on a per capita basis to China than the US does. To a certain degree there is the "well Japan makes stuff the Chinese want to buy", but it's more than that. Japan realizing what a vital economic partner China is going to be in the future, made arrangements with the Chinese government for a reciprocal visa-free entry of up to 15 days(technically I think the Chinese still require a visa, but it's merely a formality)

Now imagine you are a Chinese company looking to buy something from either the US or Japan. Everything else being equal, do you want to buy from a company where they can send almost any person on staff on-site to support the product within a day or two, or do you want to deal with the company that has cannot guarantee critical people will be able to go on-site to support the product for at least a week while they wait for their visas? The currency is probably the most visible way of boosting exports, but the non-tariff barriers to trade are at least as bad, if not worse, than the currency. It is incredibly difficult for foreign companies to export anything to China in what the Chinese government calls "critical sectors". Those that do often find themselves forced to show the Chinese companies how to make the products, then the government transfers that knowledge to Chinese companies(both state-run and private) and pretty soon the companies find that not only cannot they compete in the Chinese market, they often lose out on business in the markets they previously sold things to. On top of that there are import quotas, laws that say X% of certain products have to be made in China, laws that prevent Chinese companies from sourcing parts abroad in certain sectors etc. And whats worse is that since China is a dictatorship, the laws pretty much change on whatever whims the communist party officials are feeling that day. While the currency manipulation doesn't help, it's only a small part of the problem.

One such segment is really high performance drives(15k RPM). Given SSDs higher density when compared to 15k rpm drives, the total cost of ownership is already favoring SSDs, so any plant that made parts for the 15k rpm drives may never be rebuilt. The remaining factories will probably only produce enough product to produce spares parts and thus the price will probably never fall back down to pre-flood levels.

Also Sony can wait for the yen to drop off or can take it's Euros or dollars and invest them in other divisions, Nintendo being much smaller does not have this luxury.
