    They would have killed a lot more were it not for the fact that marksmanship has faded from the arab world after their conversion to the AK47 and all it's clones. The russians were scared shitless of their marksmanship in Afghanistan, but now that skill is relegated to a very few of their snipers. The rest of them couldn't hit the broad side of a barn.

    The Troy Davis case is perhaps not the best case to point out seeing as it is pretty conclusive given the evidence that wasn't tampered with and the outright contradicting stories of his sister and mother that he was at the scene of the crime. The evidence manufactured by the cops was manufactured to close the case, not to implicate him. Thus, calling him innocent is quite the stretch. Wrongly convicted, sure. Travesty of justice, agreed. But not innocent.

    You do realize that you can hold a bullet, at least if it's a pistol caliber, in the palm of your hand and have it go off with little to no injury to yourself. Moreover, neither the bullet or casing will have enough velocity to penetrate anything important.

    Flight B, if for no other reason than the fact that terrorism is about scaring the masses, and the option of either flight means assuming a successful terror attack people would merely cluck their tongues and say they should have taken the screened flight. More importantly, give the climate after 9/11 where people realize the purpose of a hijacking is to kill as many people as possible, in all likelihood of an attack that is not instant on flight A would result in the terrorist being beaten to death.

    The drop in crime seen in NYC correlates much closer to police per capita and increased patrol rates than any changes in gun laws. Well, that and how they manage to lose reports of crimes and never investigate them.

    You're not very smart are you? The closest armed person during the Gifford shooting was in a coffee shop around the corner and down the road(The shooting occurring at an anti-gun democrat rally), who didn't arrive at the scene until the gunman was already being wrestled down. As for you claims to the nature of guns on crime, I'll merely point out that none of the statistical studies which aren't pure bullshit bear out your side of the story. Then there's the fact that with the amount of drugs and PEOPLE that are smuggled into this country every day the idea we could ever keep guns out is absolutely absurd.

    Except they haven't Oddly enough the supposed civilian statistics thrown up by the palestinians are weighted EXTREMELY heavily towards males over the age of 14 and under 40. Oddly enough, 14 is the exact age that Hamas and Fatah bring the kids into their organization.

    The US is approx 3 times the size of western europe with comparative populations. Most cities in Europe were quite old during the start of the era of cars, as were the population centers. This means that everything was much more squished, even without the area differences.

    The tax breaks taken by companies are not subsidies, especially since they are not by any means limited to gasoline companies but just general category tax breaks. Moreover, "social costs" aren't costs other than what number they put on them, which is meaningless.

    The problem is that the majority of the world's money is just as, if not more, worthless than US money. The exceptions are places whose money supply cannot be used as a reserve currency because it is way too small.

    Tried that, but subsection E of the law pertaining to eyesight said that since my eyesight was over 20/800 prior to lasik no matter how good it got I was sidelined. A pity since I had the Nuke guys talking to me and they had started me on paperwork before we found out about that. You know what really sucks, that law was lobbied for in the early 90's by a bunch of asshole progs who found it "unfair" that men and women were choosing to have lasik done in hopes of getting good enough eyesight to get in so they set limits. Of course, those limits were based on early 90's lasik and prk, and not even 2004's technology, when it went into effect, let alone 2008. Fucking busybodies.
