On similar lines, there is talk about using Methane Farming techniques to get bio-diesel.. Here is an article that says "Methane farming and Bio-diesel can meet the entire energy requirement of India."

From the article linked above :
We (in INDIA) have the world's largest livestock population of 250 million, which produces close to 125 million tonnes of cowdung. Using this we can produce enough methane gas to entirely replace LPG and kerosene in cooking, and substitute petrol in transportation. Methane gas can also generate enough electricity to meet all requirements, at least in rural areas. The by-product can serve as excellent organic manure, substituting chemical fertilisers which require LNG as feedstock.
From TFA,
Overall, Europe has the most zombie infested networks ranking over the United States.
Considering the PC usage in United States, versus Europe, it is really surprising that most zombie infested networks are in Europe...
Is it because people in US are better at defending their PC, than Europe... ? (comparitively speaking)
I just bought a VOIP to PSTN box on EBay for approx $50 and am using it to connect a cordless phone with skype..
Works very well..
But, I am not saying what this dude did is not worth it.. I like tinkering with stuff.. but they seldom work after I have torn them apart;-)
I would prefer WiMax to fiber, even if it means slower speeds..
Dont have to re-wire my house
Of course, that would be different if I am hosting a site in my residence.. and I dont plan on doing it, right now.. .
Internet service providers curious to know how much spam they are sending Hotmail users, please raise your hands...
ummmm.. I dont see any..
Seriously, if ISP's were THAT concerned about the amount of spam their clients are generating, I wouldnt have to worry about spam, in the first place...
Guess it is time to invest in Sony and IBM! This technology really looks promising, especially when you read this article --> http://www.blachford.info/computer/Cells/Cell5.htm l The first Cell based desktop computer will be the fastest desktop computer in the industry by a very large margin. Even high end multi-core x86s will not get close. Companies who produce microprocessors or DSPs are going to have a very hard time fighting the power a Cell will deliver. We have never seen a leap in performance like this before and I don't expect we'll ever see one again, It'll send shock-waves through the entire industry and we'll see big changes as a result.
I can vouch for Pyaasa and Nayakan.
Pyaasa is a Hindi movie, while Nayakan is in Tamil (my native tongue). Kudos to Kamal Hassan for a splendid role in Nayakan.
My 2c:)
I dont see this as 'startling'. It is a well know fact that Apple computers are safer than those that run Windows...
The fact that Mr.Otellini said that is not 'startling' either. He is probably saying this because there are rumours that Apple may be using Intel chips... http://www.eweek.com/article2/0,1759,1819286,00.as p
IO Mega was notoriously famous for the 'click of death' on its zip and jazz removable drives
Check out http://grc.com/tip/codfaq1.htm this site.
I stopped using IOMega stuff a long time ago. Since this patent is just a technology, I may buy the product (if affordable) ONLY if it is manufactured by somebody other than IOMEga.
Really, the best way to think of it is as "The Xbox 360 OS." But if you really have to think of it in Windows terms, you could say it has roots in Windows 2000 by way of the original Xbox, albeit with sweeping changes along the way.
Wonder whether it will display 'blue screen of death' or the newly upgraded 'red screen of death'!!!

I betcha MSN's service will not be that flexible. But, I guarantee that it will have all kinds of bells and whistles. (some may really like 45 deg tilt views).
Right now, google works for me. Let's see how MSFT's presentation is, when it comes to fruit!

According to this article, leading anti-spyware vendors are working with the nonprofit Center for Democracy and Technology to develop guidelines for defining spyware.
When the very definition of spyware is hanging in balance, I dont see how they can strictly enforce the law.

Arrgh, I just finished reading the previous post... Dont know whether I have "a damage to the prefrontal area" or not!
From TFA The simplicity of the new system was aptly demonstrated when a pilot with no previous fast jet experience, safely landed a STOVL aircraft unaided - a feat unimaginable before.
That's pretty amazing! Wonder if similar technology will one day pave the way for the 'flying car'. Automatically controlling landing and takeoff for a domestic 'flying car' will go a long way in making it practically feasible...
While everybody is obsessed about 'music' and 'file sharing', its time to think about what effect this will have on law enforcement...
E.g. how will the police trace a criminal without the precious info?
