In general a negative void coefficient. It has something to do with the slowing down length. The average logarithmic energy decrement will remain constant IIRC, but you have a lower density of water(hydrogen) atoms. Once the temperature increases significantly, the effects of increased resonance absorption may also become significant.

How popular is it on submarines? I was under the impression that the US stopped development of the technology after the SEAWOLF(the 2nd wolf, not the third one) was built, and the last time the russians used it was the Alfa class...

So... If you put your CPU outside and it could survive the -157C temperature, it wouldn't need fans for cooling.
so infrared radiation heat flux from the cpu is going to reach 150w at a temperature below where the cpu begins to glow? below the point where thermal damage begins to occur?

are you implying that a 100kw fission reactor in orbit presents an exposure concern to personnel? i hope you are joking. assuming average prompt gamma ray energy is 1 Mev, the reactor has NO shielding, 1 Ci of a 1 MeV gamma ray point source produces an exposure rate of 1R/hr at a distance of 1M, all of the energy is emitted from a point source, and the reactor acts as a 100,000 Ci point source(this should be conservative, someone with more knowledge might upgrade me on this?), then(neglecting backscatter buildup): DR @ 1m = 100,000R/hr DR @ 10m = 1000R/hr DR @ 1km = 0.1R/hr DR @ 100km = .01mR/hr 365 days * 24hr * .01mR/hr = 87.6 mRem(assuming 1 as a QF, i can't recall the QF for a 1MeV gamma flux right now). assume the reactor and craft present 1 tenth thickness of shielding(should be conservative): 8.76mrem assume the atmosphere presents 3 tenth thickness of shielding(again conservative): .00876 mRem this craft in orbit(realizing it will not remain there) would, conservatively, increase the average persons natural radiation exposure by less than one thousandth of one percent. this is simplistic but AFAIK conservative.

You live in an urban area and have little to no experience with firearms, correct? I think you underestimate the trust that a great many Americans have in their government, the number of soldiers that would refuse to fight against Americans, hunters' knowledge of rural areas, and the collective firepower of American civilians. No military could withstand the rebellion a hostile occupation of America would create.

While your definition of assault weapon is close enough, they didn't exist in 1934 (Sturmgewehr 42 is generally recognized as the first assault weapon). And they have not been banned outright. I know firearms dealers who possess and shoot them in South Florida. 1986 further regulated the transfer and possession of specific parts of machine guns, specifically, drop in auto sears. Illegal != Regulated. As a fellow Glock 22 owner and patriot(in the constitutional sense), please be careful about these phrases, as ignorance is the weapon of the VPC and the Brady's, and the enemy of liberty.

adding power to the rear wheels by pedaling should reduce the counter-voltage developed in the stator(or is it field for dc motors...) by the rotor. so pedaling will make you go faster. it is obvious that if the motor is synchronous, reducing the load will lengthen the battery life, or if not, make you go faster. if this is wrong, please upgrade me, it's been a while since motor theory.
