  1. Mild threat on MyDoom Seeks to Destroy Antivirus Firms · · Score: 2, Insightful

The threat of a DOS attack is quite mild to actually writing truly malicious code. Something along the lines of repartitioning the harddrive and reformat the drives upon reboot. The viruses that we have seen have been mainly to slow or disconnect the victim from the network. I feel there could be worse scenarios that could happen besides what we have seen thus far.

  2. Virtual versus dual on A Dual Monitor Experiment · · Score: 1

The coolness factor of having dual monitors is usually achieved easier than setting it up a dual monitor system for productivity. I think a virtual setup that you can tab to like NVidia's cards are capable of is a solution to be more productive than a dual monitor setup for a windows enviroment. Of course in a Unix enviroment it is much easier to have virtual monitors or screens and in my opinion much easier to control.

  3. Keep throwing away money on CNET's in-depth Coverage of IT security · · Score: 3, Insightful

It seems to me they can never throw enough money at the IT security front to label it "Secure" there is always going to be a hole that can be found. Just like everything else that the goverment deals in they will continue to say they throw all this money on the issue only to have a considerable percentage moved to funding issues that the american public knows nothing about.

  4. Re:Does it really matter? on Bungie Speaks On Halo 2 Leak · · Score: 1

My reply said nothing about all modders being pirates. I stated that if they pirated the game then they must have a modded xbox. If the console is not modded then could they still play the game? I am not sure but I don't think they would be able to. I was just stating that it should not be such a big deal if the game was released in the wild because it IS going to happen. They(Bungie) will receive enough money to continue to produce games.

  5. Does it really matter? on Bungie Speaks On Halo 2 Leak · · Score: 3, Insightful

The people that pirate the game apparently already have a modded Xbox. Since they modded their Xbox I would guess that they would not be purchasing the game anyway. So really what kind of loss would Bungie be looking at in the first place?
